Quote du jour

"We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work. I want to see this country prosperous. I want to see people get a job. I want to see people get enough to eat. We have never made good on our promises. I say after eight years of this Administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started and an enormous debt to boot!"
-Henry Morgenthau, FDR's Treasury secretary

  1. History has a nasty habit to repeat itself. I believe a major cause of liberals not learning from the mistakes of the past is simply because they are ignorant of history. A conservative always makes a judgement of what can happen in the future if a certain action is taken through the prism of past similar experiences. On the opposite, a liberal is like a child who plays with fire simply because he never got burned nor he remembers seeing or reading about anyone who died in a fire.

  2. I think the latest spending spree by those unscrupulous people in power in Washington differs little from the corporate CEO that runs his company into the ground and then leaves with a "golden parachute".

The devastation that these politicians are visiting upon are country will be there long after they've left office for some cushy retirement or private sector "job". The motto for today's pols is:
    "Take the money and run!"
