Read My Lips: I'm 'Agnostic 'About Raising Your Taxes

Separated at birth?

Will "Agnostic" be Barack Obama's "Read My Lips" moment? How many times during the campaign did Slick Barack stare at you through the transparent panes of his teleprompter and tell you emphatically that if you made less than $250,000 a year, he would not raise your taxes? "Not one thin dime", he said.
Now, just fifteen months after the campaign, he's singing a different tune.

President Obama says he will be "agnostic" about whatever his reduce-the-federal-debt commission recommends -- including the idea of higher taxes for households making less than $250,000 a year.

"What I want to do is to be completely agnostic in terms of solutions,"

"Completely agnostic"??? That's not what you said during the campaign, Mr. President! You said that you would not raise taxes on anyone who made less than $250,000. You said it over and over and over again. How can you now claim to be "agnostic" about whether taxes will be raised on the very people who elected you, thinking you were capable of keeping your word?

My own supposition is that a) you will blame the tax hikes on this commission while you pretend to have clean hands b) you will refuse to make any substantial cuts in federal spending and c) you are hoping that the people who voted for you are too stupid to know what "agnostic" means.

"Uh, Mabel? Why's he talking about religion?"

Sheesh!
