Quote du jour

The Left fails to acknowledge the part that private endowments would play had the government not usurped the role of patron of the arts. Just as Andrew Carnegie founded and funded libraries, modern liberals are free to spend their own money wherever they like. Unfortunately, they prefer to spend other people's money.

  1. Unfortunately other people, us, only have so much money. Years ago the Duponts had several large estates here in Jacksonville. The parks, museums, etc. that they endowed are among our finest.

  3. OPD: The big lie from big government types, is that if government doesn't do it, it doesn't get done. Truth is, it gets done, just with not as much skimmed off the top.

WHT: Isn't that what Maggie Thatcher says the problem with socialism is? Running out of other people's money? You have a great Sunday as well!
