Quote du jour

The Senate chose not to vote to authorize that money to be spent, because it did not include money for ObamaCare. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says that he wants a "clean" bill from the House of Representatives, and some in the media keep repeating the word "clean" like a mantra. But what is unclean about not giving Harry Reid everything he wants?

    1. Every one of the "piecemeal" bills offered up by the House have been "clean". Sowell nails it once again.

  2. Mr. Sowell has hit the proverbial nail squarely on the head.

PS - nice header. I believe CV-16 was the USS Lexington. It was still the training carrier at NAS Pensacola when I was in VT-86 on shore duty there 1985-1987. Last of the wooden deck carriers to be used. Mine were steel and non-skid - USS Enterprise CVN-65, USS Eisenhower CVN-69, and USS Nimitz CVN-68.

    1. Thanks for the info on the banner. Just one question...on the Enterprise, did they ever make you wear a red shirt??

    2. HAHA - I wish it was that Enterprise. No, I wore a purple shirt - flight deck aircraft refueling. We were referred to as "grapes". Home port Alameda, CA Jan 1976 - Dec 1978.

    3. But the "grapes of wrath", should the balloon ever go up.
