The other big Communist holiday "May Day" (May 1) was often set aside, too, for large rallies of easily duped people.Mike aka Proofhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08931553845065187278noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6774510750415512728.post-68317305550205953522012-04-22T12:50:58.882-04:002012-04-22T12:50:58.882-04:00I'm way ahead of you, cupcake! I already know ...I'm way ahead of you, cupcake! I already know that you can't eat money. But, did you know what you can't eat under the Communist system of a fanatic like Lenin? Anything at all.

"Joseph Stalin, leader of the Soviet Union, set in motion events designed to cause a famine in the Ukraine to destroy the people there seeking independence from his rule. As a result, an estimated 7,000,000 persons perished in this farming area, known as the breadbasket of Europe, with the people deprived of the food they had grown with their own hands."

The old Soviet Union was no idyllic garden. Gardens and parks cost money. Back when Germany was divided, East Germany, under Communist control, was a cesspool of pollution. When the two Germanys were reunited, it was the wealth of the west that provided the resources to clean up the east. (That money stuff you claim you "cannot eat".)

And a coal fired power plant that serves a million homes produces far less pollution than would one million fires of wood or dung or trash, to warm the homes and cook the food of a million impoverished families.

Wealth and freedom make for a cleaner planet. Impoverished people do whatever they can to survive. They do not have the luxury of looking at the "bigger picture".

And your "proverb"? It may be the stupidest thing I've seen written in a long time. Just imagine yourself telling the seven million people who starved to death in the Ukraine that "you can't eat money". I'm sure they'd all have been motivated to plant another tree for Lenin's birthday!

Here's a proverb for you: "Beware those who despise wealth and seek to limit your freedom, unless you are fond of the smell of burning dung."Mike aka Proofhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08931553845065187278noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6774510750415512728.post-28885708484953007442012-04-22T09:15:12.097-04:002012-04-22T09:15:12.097-04:00How ironic.
