And the thing the Left ...Exactly right...Well said. And the thing the Left does not seem to understand is that the preciousness of life is affirmed by the fact that wrongfully taking an innocent life results in the "forfeiting" of the murderer's life. We actually CHEAPEN life by allowing such a murderer to live, to experience joys, to enjoy a meal, to recreate, so on. Why do you think almost all death row inmates fight for years to stay alive? Again, we are talking about a very specific type of first-degree murderer. We're not talking manslaughter here.

Those of us who are "pro life" can easily make the distinction between innocent unborn life and the life of one who wrongfully ends the innocent life of another by way of murder. Leftists really don't get it. The so-called "nuanced" ones are as black and white on this issue as they can be.

BECAUSE life is so precious, the murderer MUST pay for such a crime in the only way that is just - to forfeit his life. And don't give me that nonsense about how "it is far more of a punishment for him to live his days out behind bars than opt for the easy way out." Baloney. The moment death row killers stop battling for years to stay alive, that's when you can start the argument that capital punishment is NOT a deterrent or a just punishment.

Your analysis regarding freedom is SPOT ON.Mike aka Proofhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08931553845065187278noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6774510750415512728.post-12064006045303186022015-01-12T15:10:54.247-05:002015-01-12T15:10:54.247-05:00"To take an innocent life by way of
murder me..."To take an innocent life by way of
murder means that the murderer no longer has the right to keep his or her own life."

I like to use the word "forfeit". The murderer forfeits his own life when he wrongfully takes that of another. I can remember when the Left really thought they had us stumped by asking the question, "How can someone who is 'pro-life' favor the death penalty?"

Simple. I am also 'pro-freedom', yet if you commit any number of crimes, society will lock you up and take yours away. Why? Because you forfeit your freedom when convicted of certain crimes. There is no inconsistency in that. The death penalty is only the most severe justice for the most severe of crimes. One might restore property, but one can never restore a life.Mike aka Proofhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08931553845065187278noreply@blogger.com
