This Day in History...

...in 1898, Lewis Burwell "Chesty" Puller was born. Nicknamed for his barrel shaped chest, "Chesty" was the most decorated Marine in the history of the US.

He was the only Marine to be awarded five Navy Crosses. (The Navy Cross being second only to the Congressional Medal of Honor)
During his career, he fought in World War 2 and the Korean War, and participated in some of the bloodiest battles in Marine Corps history.

Also this day in history,
15 years ago today, two US Navy ships (on Bill Clinton's orders) fired 23 Tomahawk cruise missiles [ineffectually] at the Iraqi Intelligence Service building in Baghdad.

I think here we have a "hero" and a "zero"!
