The Racial Tinge of Identity Politics

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

"I have a dream" has been replaced with "I have an excuse!"

Recently, Sarah Palin was asked if there was a "racial tinge" to her remarks about Obama's association with known, unrepentant domestic terrorist Bill Ayers.

Ayers, of course, is a white guy, but let's not let the facts get in the way of a good story! So, to the mainstream media, you say the word "terrorist" and they immediately (in their minds) conjure up an image of a swarthy, middle-Eastern type, no doubt with a burnoose and perhaps a scimitar for good measure! Clearly racism! /sarcasm

In the world of identity politics, you are classified by who you are. To conservatives, you are classified by what you do: Judged the content of your character rather than the color of your skin, so to speak!

To Sarah Palin, the Weathermen are to be condemned as terrorists, regardless of their race, creed or the color of their skin. The identity politician must first identify which Victim Group a person falls into, so they will know which excuse to use for why that person ought not to be held responsible for their actions.
Unless it's a conservative, then...Hang 'em high!

  1. Obama was not aware. Obama is never aware. He's not aware of when to vote, so he doesn't show up. He's not aware of the bills being voted on so he votes present. It must be nice to be able to "not be aware" all the time.
