Day 78, Hope and Change for the Gulf: 'Tar Balls' Show up off Texas Shores

by the Left Coast Rebel

Recall the timeline that I posted on the Obama/Leviathan-response to the Gulf oil spill (from the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon to just several days after)? Recall the myriad agency-bureaucracy missteps, bungling, mismanagement, un-management and deplorable case of centralized power largess-incompetence?

Today's news of 'tar balls' on Texas shores is both sad and pathetic:

Showing just how unpredictable and all-consuming the massive Gulf oil spill can be, tar balls and small sheens of oil have entered Lake Pontchartrain and are hitting Texas shores for the first time.

Also on Monday, The Associated Press reported that Texas crews were removing tar balls from the Bolivar Peninsula and Galveston Island.

The Texas landfall and the encroachment into Lake Pontchartrain weren't unexpected, but they were staggering nonetheless, as the previously spared gateways to the highly populated areas saw the first physical evidence that they would not be immune.

A lot of the spill's drastic movement during the weekend was caused by the peripheral effects of Alex, which also stymied BP's cleanup and containment efforts temporarily. Cleanup was suspended for three days, BP said.

Imagine if only the Obama had attacked this spill like a general at war. Imagine if all international help were/had been taken in with open arms. Imagine if one corrupt union-stacked Federal branch on top of another hadn't gotten in the way as the Gulf oil spill worsened.

If Jimmy Carter were dead he would be spinning in his grave watching the Obamanation response....
