Christopher: I never thought the video was "innocent". There's a lot of sexual innuendo, aside from the whole "Want some candy little girl" aspect to it. And California girls don't wear "Daisy Dukes, bikinis on top" to go to Sunday School.
Although I was not familiar with it as a child, the video struck me more as an adult homage to Hasbro's "Candyland" game. "Snoop" is sitting at a board moving pieces around. http://www.hasbro.com/games/en_US/candyland/
Christopher: I watched the video you linked to. They lost me at "inverted pentagrams". Here in California, we call those "stars". In Hollywood "Candyfornia" as in Hollywood, California, we put them on the sidewalks. Stardom may present its temptations, but the "inverse pentagram" is a stretch. I think someone is trying to read far too much into the video.
Was I suppose to have the speakers on?
ReplyDeleteProof, I guess you had not seen this before,,
