White House Set to Release OBL Photo Today?

According to Jake Tapper of ABC News, the White House is dithering (my word, not Jake's) about releasing the photo because of the gruesome and inflammatory nature of it. Well, Mr. President, after all we did kill the man! Is showing his picture more gruesome than the act itself?

The photograph, according to sources who have seen it, is bloody and gruesome, with a bullet wound to his head above his left eye. There are concerns its release could be inflammatory, though officials also say it's important to put to rest any skepticism about the death of this nation's public enemy number one.

America is waiting with bated breath for evidence that this "holy" man has truly become a "holey" man. No matter how gruesome, the White House needs to release the pictures. Plural. The perception of this White House as being less than trustworthy and honest demands that they set forth irrefutable evidence.

If the photos upset the tender sensitivities of some, then so be it. If ridding the world of terrorism involves doing less than pleasant things to terrorists, Americans need to see the price that is paid. (The same could be said for the horrific images of people falling to their death on 9/11. The reason the price has to be paid.)
