Obama Says Selling Unicorn Burgers Can Revitalize the Economy

Well, actually, he didn't. What he said made far less sense. After recounting the circumstances that brought about the housing bubble and subsequent financial crash, while ignoring or glossing over the government's role in mandating and coercing the banks to make these sub par loans, the President had this to say:

And their philosophy is simple: We are better off when everybody is left to fend for themselves and play by their own rules.

I am here to say they are wrong.

"Play by their own rules", Mr. President? Sounds a lot like anarchy. Where, oh, where have we seen any anarchists in the last few month? Oh, yeah! The #Occupy movement. A lot of anarchists there. You said you support the Occupy movement, and by inference, their anarchists, too, right? Or was this just a straw man you erected meant to take a shot at somebody else?

You have adopted the false "99% versus 1%" rhetoric of the Occupiers, who defied law enforcement, and curfew laws and personal hygiene: are you now going to condemn them for "wanting to play by their own rules"? Didn't think so. Not in an election year, anyway!

Why must you conjure up the image of an imaginary foe in order to introduce your agenda, Mr. Obama? Name names. Be specific. Who exactly has said they want to "play by their own rules" other than your friends in the Occupy movement? Who exactly has said, "We are better off when everybody is left to fend for themselves"? You mean like not reporting sexual assaults to the police, like your friends in Occupy Wall Street? That kind of "fending off"? Living in tents and sleeping bags...that kind of "fending for themselves"?

Who exactly were you talking about? You were awfully vague, Mr. President. But then, that's an old habit of yours, isn't it Mr. O? You're awfully fond of using things like "Some people say..." when you want to build yet another straw man argument that you can easily knock down.

Some people say you're a liar, Mr. President. Some people say you were born in Kenya. It's amazing what you can say, as long as you are merely alluding to some mysterious "some people" who say such things, isn't it?

The philosophy of some politicians is simple: We are better off when we spend more than we collect in taxes, and play the class warfare card to accuse the rich of not paying enough, even though there's no possible way to charge the rich enough in taxes to pay for the reckless way Washington continues to spend and spend and spend.

I am here to say, Mr. President, they are wrong. (BTW, this means you!)

  2. "Some people" say that he is. And there's a lot more where that came from in that speech. There are so many lies and deceptions in that one speech, one hardly knows where to start to expose this fellow for who he really is.
