Quote du jour

...this week is likely to mark the end of the Buffett Rule as a major part of the Obama agenda, because this week a significant part of the political class in Washington finally admitted that the idea is little more than a gimmick that would do nothing to fix the country's problems.

  1. Not sure I agree with York. The class warfare angle will still play well with Barry's "base." The demagogue doesn't care so much about what the "political class" thinks. He's leading the street mob from behind. In fact, I just talked myself into definitely disagreeing with York. The Buffet rule will live on as chant repeated by the occupy mob, which is nothing more than arm of Barry's re-elect campaign.

    1. Obama himself has been forced to back track on this a little. It will probably still show up in some of his stump speeches as boob bait for the bubbas, but he will probably couch that in terms of "fairness" and leave Buffett's name out of it.

  2. Buffet was always free to give extra at tax time.

    1. As are all the liberals who think we or they "don't pay enough taxes". Still, they take every deduction they are entitled to and never seem to get around to writing that check to the Treasury.
