Fibber McPOTUS' Closet

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

We take you now, back to the days of yesteryear, back before there was a "C" in CGI, back before there was video...back when special effects relied solely upon the theater of the mind! Once upon a time, there was a radio program called "Fibber McGee and Molly". Fibber McGee, as his name might imply, was known for his tall tales and 'face saving' lies, though none were of a magnitude with "If you like your health care plan, you can keep it"!

There was a running gag in the show, that Fibber McGee had a closet that was stuffed to overflowing, and the poor, hapless soul who opened the door of said closet, was subject to an avalanche of junk, brick-a-bracs, pots and pans and who knows what, to come crashing down upon him, all conveyed with only the sound effects of falling objects to stir one's imagination.

Thinking of the Fibber and his closet made me think of Obama and his Obamacare closet...once they opened the door to that "bill they had to pass to see what was in it", all kinds of garbage came crashing out. Millions of people lost affordable plans they were satisfied with, others discovered to their shock and chagrin, that their premiums would double and triple, and their deductibles would skyrocket under Obama's new "Affordable" health care.

In the imaginary world of "Fibber" McGee, there was no clean up of the mess. It was all imaginary - sound and fury, signifying little. Much like Obama's policy pronouncements. In Obama's case, the mess is only imaginary insofar that none of the statements used to sell the program had any semblance of reality. But, the mess is real, and will likely take decades to clean up, only if we can manage to elect some honest, adult leadership who are willing to uphold the Constitution of the United States.

  1. "...if we can manage to elect some honest, adult leadership who are willing to uphold the Constitution of the United States" is one helluva caveat. Let us all pray for a statesman that can deliver us from the tyranny.

Thanks, Proof, for standing guard over liberty. This was an excellent post.

Happy New Year to you and your readers, even to Odie.

Oh bother. So what is stopping you from running for public office and showing the world how to do it?

... But then again ... Proof Positive would then be responsible for actually doing something besides whine, sniffle, and feel sorry for himself. Whoa pity poor Proof Positive ...

Things are looking better for the people of USA in 2014.

  5. "So what is stopping you from running for public office and showing the world how to do it?" So, in your simple minded way, are you trying to imply that unless I am a politician or running for president, that I should not criticize Obama for the way he is doing or not doing his job? Would it follow then, that unless you are a blogger with a considerable following, you should not be criticizing me?

So what is stopping you from creating a successful public blog and showing the world how to do it, Ema? Then poor Ema would be responsible for actually doing something besides carp,
snipe, and feel sorry for itself. Whoa... pity poor Ema Simpleton!

Your delusions about things "looking better" in this country in 2014 are duly noted. Check back tomorrow when I have my 2014 predictions posted.

  7. Dear, dim witted Ema! It is a terrible thing to tell someone they have cancer. Do you think the oncologist who tells his patient he has cancer hates him? Last year, when you were riding the short bus, and you would write 2+2=5, or "I is Ema Nympton", did you think the teachers "hated" you because they corrected you?

Did you think that the consistently poor grades you received throughout your entire grade school years (both of them) were due to hatred from your teachers?

Finally, when your doctor diagnosed you as a paranoid schizophrenic, and started you on a drug regimen, do you believe it was because he hated you, or because he wanted you to get better?

You have not demonstrated that I hate anyone, because truly, I don't, except maybe child molesters and those who afflict the poor and helpless. Are you saying you think Obama is either of those? (Or both?)

You must not have a very high opinion of him. Have you spoken to your therapist about this?? You really should!

Oh I'm sorry. Was that your 2014 predictions; that _you_ brought up?!

Or are you having problems staying on topic?

  9. Ema, I'm sorry you never learned to reason via analogy...or any other way. Perhaps if you had not been kidnapped by dingos as a child?
