It is our duty still to endeavor to avoid war; but if it shall actually take place, no matter by whom brought on, we must defend ourselves. If our house be on fire, without inquiring whether it was fired from within or without, we must try to extinguish it.
-Thomas Jefferson
Too bad the Ron Paulians couldn't quite get the whole "war" thing as it was understood by our founding fathers. Not sure how the great RON PAUL got the idea that we should avoid conflict for fear of "blowback". That's like saying, I'm not going to defend myself for fear there might be "blowback". Yes, I'm using that term because I actually was forced to read Ron Paul's book, Revolution.
ReplyDeleteRon Paul has always been more Libertarian than Republican.
ReplyDeleteAnd, although I sympathize with Libertarians and agree with many of their positions, Ron Paul's isolationism is one reason why I'll be unlikely to become a Libertarian any time soon!
