Well, not so much a review as a recommendation! The Mouse that Roared, (1955) by Leonard Wibberley is a novel set in the tiny, imaginary country of "the Duchy of Grand Fenwick."
I suppose it's been at least two score years since I've read it, but it's a delightful tale of a small country that proposes to solve its economic problems by declaring war on the US and then immediately apply for foreign aid. Plans go awry when they accidentally "win".
I don't wish to spoil any of the fun for you. If you need a little light hearted satire this election year, you could do far worse than investigating Mr. Wibberley's small dynasty!
BTW, don't rent the movie! At least, not until after you've read the book!
