"Mark my words," the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. "It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy."-ABC News
"I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate," Biden said to Emerald City supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities.
Joe Biden, Obama's foreign policy "expert", is predicting that one or more of America's enemies will take advantage of Obama's inexperience within the first six months of an Obama presidency. Biden, who once famously said of Obama, that the White House was not the place for on the job training, illustrates the peril of electing a political novice to the highest office in the world's last remaining superpower.
The Middle East? An attack by Iran on Israel or vice versa? China threatening Taiwan? Another Russian incursion? Obama's first instinct was to be on both sides of the last conflict. Any evidence he would be any better on the next one? Sadly, no.
Biden seems pretty confident that somewhere on the planet, one or more groups will be emboldened by the perceived weakness of an Obama presidency to take drastic actions against America or its allies, sooner rather than later. Do we really want to gamble the future of this country on a smooth talking political opportunist and the old Washington insider who seems to know him better than the rest of us?
