Global warming a crisis? Let's use the opportunity to ramrod through distasteful and expensive programs the public would never put up with under normal circumstances.
Same thing with the Porkulus bill: Only the fear mongering spectacle of the President and Congress warning us of severe economic crisis if we "do nothing" could give any fig leaf to cover this naked power grab in spending a trillion dollars of your tax money to curry votes and political favors. Let's call it the ACORN/ Teacher's Union Full Employment Act of 2009!
