Obama to Cut Benefits to Widows and Orphans in Half

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Not just any widows and orphans, though...widows and orphans of fallen police officers! Because, you know, when I think of cutting government waste, I don't think of $368,000 Air Force One photo ops, or the National Endowment of the Arts or some obscure museum somewhere. I don't think farm subsidies or helium farms or Institute of Mental Health studies of Peruvian brothels, I think about families of fallen police officers and what have they done for us lately? /sarcasm

the Associated Press reported on May 7 that the president’s proposed budget calls for cuts in the Public Safety Officer’s Death Benefits Program. Obama wants to cut $50 million from the program, the budget to fall from $110 million to $60 million.
Balancing the budget on the backs of widows and orphans, this was big news, right? I mean you heard about it lots of times before you read it here, didn't you? Beuller? Beuller?? Anyone???

Didn't think so.
