This was on the occasion of a trip to Montreal...
Bon soir! Had no trouble flying in, but like Al Gore, had to invent the Internet after I got to the hotel!
A vignette from today’s journey…
People are the same all over. Landing in Montreal, coming down the jetway from the plane, I saw two women, two children. One child in arms, the other, about four, trailing behind. The women were speaking French, so I really couldn’t make out what they were saying, but the four year old, I could understand!
The lady carrying the child would say something, and in that lilting way that four year olds can turn two syllables into three, said “pourquoi?” (Why?). And Mom would say something else and the little one would say “pourquoi?” And Momma would say something else and, as sure as God made little green apples, the response was: “pourquoi?” The little one never seemed to tire of the game and Mom was very patient!
And all the passengers waiting for our carry on luggage in the jetway had to chuckle, because people (at least four year old people) are the same everywhere!
