---when you tax something you get less of it and when you reward something you get more of it.
Jack Kemp above, on basic economic literacy 101, something far too difficult to understand for progressive-collectivist extremists that dominate the national media and the White House/Congress.
They are also simple words that guide plumbers to rocket scientists, doctors to day-laborers - even famous sports stars, including LeBron James:
As many pundits have pointed out LeBron James stands to make over 100 million dollars (though the exact amount is not confirmed yet) playing for the Miami Heat and will save over $10 million dollars in taxes (vs. NY for example) because Florida doesn't have an income tax, regardless of income. I noticed that most sources, including the Plain Dealer that broke the story hardly mention that tax liability was surely part of LeBron James' decision. Facts are stubborn things!CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The witnesses have been excused.
LeBron James crushed Cavaliers fans Thursday night when he announced live on national television that he was leaving Cleveland and will sign with the Miami Heat.
James said he made the decision Thursday morning after a phone call with his mother, Gloria, who James said supported his decision. He said his choice flip-flopped several times in the last week after holding meetings with six teams in Cleveland.
But multiple sources said that James has been in contact with new Miami Heat teammates Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade for several weeks -- including a meeting the three of them had at James' Bath home in the last week of June to discuss the marriage.
James said he will sign a five-year deal, longer than any deal he signed with the Cavs. The amount is yet to be determined, all three players are expected to accepted less than the maximum salary.
"I didn't want to make an emotional decision, I wanted to do what was best for LeBron James and what would make him happy," James said. "This is a business and I had seven great years in Cleveland. I hope the fans understand; maybe they won't."
Exit question - What do you get when one of the most populace states in the nation (and ruled by liberal demagogues) ignores the simple economic law spoken by Jack Kemp and proven by the LeBron James story?
Answer - The People's Republic of California - a bastion of illegal immigrants, and a disintegrating pool of earners to support them, welfare artists and an entitlement state that would make European nations blush.
Our nation from the Oval office down ignores simple economic law at our peril....
