Left Coast RebelOnce again I find myself breaking
team-imposed house rules. But how can I not when I can turn a Ground Zero mosque story into a
Rule 5 special as well?
One may find it incredible that the recently crowned Miss USA Rima Fakih (also a Muslim and the first Miss USA winner to be so) has the sense to not pull on Obamanation on the sensitive Ground Zero mosque issue.
NYDailyNews:"We should be more concerned with the tragedy than religion," said Miss USA Rima Fakih, who was born in Lebanon but raised in Dearborn, Michigan.
"I also agree that it shouldn't be so close to the World Trade Center."
Fakih, 24, is in Las Vegas rehearsing for Monday's Miss Universe pageant, officials said yesterday.
Amazing that through handlers, press coaxing or otherwise, Miss USA Rima Fakih has the sense to tread lightly on this issue. As I read further down the article, however - my insatiable appetite for Orwellian news articles was quickly whetted:She would also be the first Muslim to be crowned Miss Universe.
Fakih commissioned a flashy gold and silver eagle costume for the competition that she calls a tribute to Obama.
"The symbolism of this costume is a tribute to your work to bring peace to the world," Fakih said of the winged outfit in a promotional video for Miss Universe.
A tribute to Obama? What kind of America do we live in? Dare I mention that Obama has accelerated and mismanaged the war in Afghanistan as well? And that is called an 'effort to bring peace to the world'? Oh well, what can you say? At least there is always

A lovely young lady with more common sense and decency than the entire Obama administration.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how long it will be before she is denounced in the Mohammedan world. I pray for her safety.
