Intimidate voters with threats of violence in front of a polling place and the Feds send you on your merry way! Sell raw milk to people who want it? The Feds will hunt you down!
A yearlong sting operation, including aliases, a 5 a.m. surprise inspection and surreptitious purchases from an Amish farm in Pennsylvania, culminated in the federal government announcing this week that it has gone to court to stop Rainbow Acres Farm from selling its contraband to willing customers in the Washington area.
The product in question: unpasteurized milk.
It’s a battle that’s been going on behind the scenes for years, with natural foods advocates arguing that raw milk, as it’s also known, is healthier than the pasteurized product, while the Food and Drug Administration says raw milk can carry harmful bacteria such as salmonella, E. coli and listeria.
“It is the FDA’s position that raw milk should never be consumed,”
So, the government decides that a product consumed for thousands of years isn't healthy enough for you, but it's okay to sell tobacco? Anyone ever hear of "secondhand milk" killing anyone? I guess they could put a warning label on it, but sending the police and US marshalls and state troopers out to bust your milk operation?
Smaller government, anyone??
Read the whole thing.

A year long? How many illegals could they have captured before they got on the dole in a years time?
ReplyDeleteMaybe if they had been carrying illegal milk, the Feds might have taken an interest?
ReplyDeleteNothing highlights the need for a drastically more limited government than this story. Shocking.
ReplyDeleteYeah. Not only can we not afford the government we have, but, like a bad sci-fi movie is threatening to enslave us!
