I'm sure you've seen this but Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver are apparently separated.
L.A. Times:
Former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife, Maria Shriver, have separated, with Shriver moving out of their Brentwood mansion while the two determine the next step in their 25-year marriage.
Shriver has been residing apart from the actor-turned-politician for the last few weeks. The former first couple confirmed the separation in a joint statement released Monday after questions from The Times.
"This has been a time of great personal and professional transition for each of us," the statement read. "After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion and prayer, we came to this decision together. At this time, we are living apart while we work on the future of our relationship.
I guess Arnold will have more time for the three movies he will star in coming up. But, at 63, isn't he a bit old for another Terminator role?
I guess the real question (especially for political junkies, now that its too late for California) is this: will Arnold Schwarzenegger start acting like a free market conservative Republican and fan of Ronald Reagan and Milton Friedman now that Maria Shriver is out of his life? Cailfornia gossip has always had it that Shriver was a big reason behind the Governator's sharp left turn here. I think that he changed as a result of simple, crass, political opportunism.
Going forward, now that he has more time on his hands, I think that the Governator will be a permanent fixture at international global
Schwarzenegger: From a fan of Milton Friedman to a pawn of the far-left.
How sad.

I would expect his future Terminator roles to be more along the lines of cameos.
ReplyDeleteWhether severing the ties with the Kennedy clan will move him towards the right (or whether a move to the right caused him to sever the ties), remains to be seen.
His days as a leading man in politics or show biz, are most likely behind him.
I'll not be back.
