"I am Breitbartacus" - Andrew Breitbart R.I.P.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Many of us were stunned at the news of the passing of Andrew Breitbart. After the initial skepticism that perhaps we were being "punked", came the hollow realization that this dynamic force of nature had been struck down in his prime. Words failed many of us.

One is astounded at the sheer volume and number of tributes, eulogies and obituaries generated today, alongside the sneering, mocking vitriol of impotent leftists who were not able to stand against his whirlwind wit, enthusiasm and vitality while he lived, and gather like jackals to gloat over him in death.

What struck me, was one obituary labeled, "Andrew Breitbart, blogger, R.I.P." "Blogger"? Considering the outpouring of support and sympathy and loss, amongst the countless number of people touched by his life, it seems that "blogger" is insufficient to describe him. "A force of nature" ,maybe, but not "blogger". Another came closer with "conservative pundit and web entrepreneur".

And it also seemed to me that many heads of state have not commanded in their passing the response that the sudden death of Andrew Breitbart has evoked. My first thought was "world leaders" rather than heads of state, but, in many senses, Andrew was a world leader. He was a leader in the American conservative movement, with influence worldwide. He was bold and brash and sometimes abrasive, but there was no denying the tenacity and vigor with which he approached life, uncowed by his many critics.

I was among Andrew's many admirers. I never had the pleasure to meet him personally. But he will be dearly missed. And though his critics rejoice in his falling, I can already hear the voices of legions willing to stand up for what Andrew believed in and fought for.

The left's worst nightmare of a legion of Breitbarts may one day come to pass. Breitbart will never be a plaster saint, but will continue to serve as an inspiration to this generation of conservatives, much to the Left's chagrin.

  1. Great photochop!

A hero has fallen. Let's pick up the flag and charge the lying lefties and their propaganda-fueled stooges the Breitbart way: Straight up the gut!

God rest your soul, Andrew Breitbart, I will miss how you made the lefties scream like the little girls they are...

    1. It worked for Spartacus, I figured it could work for Breitbart! But, you're right. It is up to us to take up where Andrew left off.

  2. I was shocked and saddened that a man this young would die so suddenly. Never regret growing older, it is a privilege denied to many. Such a tragic loss not only for his family, but all of us as well.
    Rest in peace Andrew.

    1. As long, if not longer than Barry Obama. Any other pointless questions? Anything actually on topic? Any of that vaunted liberal compassion we always hear about but never see?

  6. .

Feeling guilty about be associated with AB, are you?

    "Anything actually on topic?"

You want compassion? Let us go to AB.

Breitbart unapologetically attacked Kennedy, calling him a “villain,” “a big ass motherf@#$er,” a “duplicitous bastard” and a “prick.” “I’ll shut my mouth for Carter. That’s just politics. Kennedy was a special pile of human excrement,” wrote Breitbart in one tweet.

No one will miss ABs passing.

    1. Ema, Emu, Ema! I used to think that perhaps you were one of the dimmer bulbs of liberalism. With this comment of yours, I feel compelled to move you into the "burned out" category.

"Feeling guilty about be associated with AB, are you?" Not at all. Nor has there been anything I have written that would lead a sane or rational human being to conclude otherwise. Pointing out your inane and off topic comments hardly reflects any "guilt" on my part about associating in any way shape or form with Andrew Breitbart. But, thanks for playing!

You appear to recognize the words, "Anything actually on topic?", but then follow it with: "You want compassion?". Asking about his military service or lack thereof does not to address matters of compassion or the man's character. It was pointless... which may well fit with what passes for your mind. In the future, you might want to keep those particular idiocies to yourself.

"Breitbart unapologetically attacked Kennedy". So you feel this was wrong and therefore have the license to attack Breitbart unapologetically? Not sure that becoming more like Breitbart was what you had in mind, but everyone should have a goal. But, if you please, point out the number of dead bodies Andrew left in his wake?

The Left likes to come after the "1%". Kennedy fits. What would you call someone who used his wealth and position to walk away from an accident resulting in another person's death, where he was driving without a valid license, possibly (probably) intoxicated, and not immediately inform police and or rescue crews to attempt to save the young woman who was with him in the car, without significant legal consequence?

It is said by Kennedy's friends and associates that he used to love a good Chappaquiddick joke*. In my book, that makes Breitbart wrong. Kennedy was a big steaming pile of weasel excrement.

I didn't see the tweet. I do not know the timing or the context. But it does bring into question your veracity, sanity and judgement if you can say "No one will miss ABs passing", if you are at all familiar with Twitter in particular or the Internet in general. Hundreds of websites and thousands upon thousands of expressions of "missing Breibart" have gone out to date. Many on Twitter have changed their avatars to pictures of Breitbart in tribute to his passing. To make such a statement, you must have recently been aroused from a coma or, as a liberal, your accuracy is just as stellar as usual. Don't you ever get tired of being wrong, Ema?

Keep whistling by the graveyard, Ema. You'll convince yourself someday.
