"Iconic airships will become larger, faster, more maneuverable..."
AKRON, Ohio, March 22, 2013 – The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company announced today that it has begun construction of the first of a new generation of airships to replace its fleet of world famous blimps.
The new Zeppelin LZ N07-101 airship, manufactured by Germany’s ZLT Zeppelin Luftschifftechnik, will be assembled at Goodyear’s Wingfoot Lake Hangar near Akron, Ohio. An agreement with ZLT Zeppelin to supply Goodyear with the new airships was announced in May 2011.
Relatively low tech Goodyear blimps have been flying since 1925. In a related story, the space shuttle, admittedly higher tech, took its first orbital test flight in 1981. Operational flights began the next year. The shuttle was discontinued in 2011. The next generation of shuttles is scheduled for... scheduled for.... Wait! Don't tell me! The next generation space vehicle of the preeminent leader of the exploration of space, is scheduled for... scheduled for... aw, nuts!

Wasn't you one of them 'screaming chicken-little, USA can't do anything write, gotta pay down the crushing federal deficit' types not too long ago??
Having a bit of a problem following what you wants. You boldly and snidely howl at every turn about how USA, the people of USA, and the government of USA are absolutely and irredeemably corrupt, incompetent, and failures.
Now you point to really old aviation technology as somehow admirable.
Looking forward to your starting covering buggy-whip manufacturing as a solution to USA unemployment.

Ah, dear old troll Ema! I write about large gasbags and here you stand!
DeleteWasn't (sic) you one of them 'screaming chicken-little, USA can't do anything write (sic)..." Weren't you paying attention, or is being a grade school dropout the reason you can't get anything right?
"gotta pay down the crushing federal deficit" (sic)Actually, dear dull Ema, one doesn't "pay down" a deficit. We do need to reduce both the deficit and the federal debt, but in a multi-trillion dollar economy that does not mean we have to stop all spending. I would gladly trade, for example the nearly $300,000 the White House spends on staff calligraphers (3) and employ a greater number of NASA engineers and technicians. If the hotel bill for my bumbling vice president approached $700,000, I would instruct him to be on the "red eye". He can sleep on the plane. That's a million bucks right there, Ema, without even breaking a sweat! Imagine what one could do, had he started in 2008, as he promised*, to go through the budget line by line to eliminate wasteful spending?
"Having a bit of a problem following what you wants." Yes, dear. Your inability to read and comprehend simple English is legendary. Aided and abetted, I suspect, by little voices in your head. For example, you say:
You boldly and snidely howl at every turn about how USA, the people of USA, and the government of USA are absolutely and irredeemably corrupt, incompetent, and failures.
At "every turn", dear lunatic Ema? "The American people", dear divorced from reality Ema? I would dearly love to see what evidence you have for any of that. Care to share with the rest of the class?
Just because I have singled out several individuals who are corrupt, and incompetent and failures (Obama & Holder come to mind), that by any means gives you any basis in fact for you to claim that I somehow smeared the entire US government or the America people for the malfeasance of these few bumbling kleptocrats.
But, your delusions continue!
"Now you point to really old aviation technology as somehow admirable." Really? I may see the source of your confusion. (One source, don't get your hopes up. I did not pen the line under the photo. I will correct that by putting it in quotes. What I said about them is found entirely in the following line:
Relatively low tech Goodyear blimps have been flying since 1925. I might use the word "reliable" rather than "admirable".
"Looking forward to your starting covering buggy-whip manufacturing as a solution to USA unemployment." So, in what passes for your mind, the next generation spaceflight vehicle is "buggy whip" technology? My, but you do live in a world of your own, don't you, Ema?
When Barack Hussein Obama turned NASA from the exploration of space to the exploration of the feelings of Muslims, the budget cuts gutted the place. Some, if not all, of the experience and talent we lost their to other industries might never be recovered. And they were good paying jobs, despite your sneering at the unemployment problem in this country because of the inept, lying bumbler your party inflicted upon us.
And all those NASA employees and their contractors paid taxes, and stimulated the economy in their own communities, so there was at least a small return on our investment there.
And the scientific knowledge gained through the space program has improved the lives of most living Americans. Tell me about the return we've gotten on three calligraphers and one really expensive night in Paris?
If you want to enlighten yourself about the disgrace of this president as regards to the space program, here's a couple of links.

*Yes. That would be Obi Won
Why pay billions on space exploration when you can buy a lazy piece of crap a free lunch.
ReplyDeleteWhen I say Ema is "divorced from reality", I mean that reality got custody of all the intellectual properties in the settlement.
