A petition has been started on the White House's "We the People" website, pleading with President Obama to "Call NFL Jacksonville Jaguars GM David Caldwell and tell him to stop ignoring the Jaguars fans and sign Tim Tebow!"
Isn't that just precious? As if Obama could find anyone a job!
I lived in Jacksonville until last September when my wife and I opted for the Smoky Mountains of western North Carolina. Jacksonville is about an hour drive from Gainesville where Tebow played for the Gators. During his college career, not a day went by that the media (TV and Radio and Press - Oh My!) weren't slobbering over him, much as they do for obama. The Cult of Tebow. Everybody wanted the Jags to draft him. Apparently there are those, and plenty of them, who think that Tebow is some sort of Savior and/or Messiah, much like obama. The one thing Tebow would be good for would be to fill the stadium. And then disappoint.
ReplyDeleteTebow has always generated a great deal of hype. The difference between Tebow and Obama is that at least some of the hype for Tebow was warranted.
DeleteMaybe we could convince the Nobel committee to give Tebow the Peace prize for bringing unity to Jets fans?
ReplyDeleteLittle Green Shitballs?
ReplyDeleteTebow has outperformed his percieved competence level. That had a lot to do with the hype. Hell, the kid's last start was a post season win against Pittsburgh. That ain't luck. These jackasses who talk about how overrated Tebow is never cite his stats. He suffers from the same dumbass, media inspired bigotry that Sarah Palin does. They all say it, and it sticks. So Sarah Palin is dumb and Tim Tebow is a lousy QB. Neither are true, but consensus has been achieved.
Next target?
I never thought Tebow was a lousy QB, although I admit I haven't followed him that closely. The hype was rather hard to miss.
