I never thought about it that way but that is a perfect analogy.
ReplyDeleteThe real irony is in how many Democrats voted against the original Civil Rights Act and how many Republicans voted for it. Libs just made it part of their mythology.
DeleteTo take the analogy further, since it wasn't their victory in the first place, they're like the water boy from the championship season, wearing his letter jacket, and preening as if he'd scored the winning touchdown himself!
