I got hooked on Burke with his Connections series, back in the 70's: taking obscure inventions back in the dawn of civilization and trace how they spawned some necessity or reality of the (then) 20th century. I went back and viewed them again, and, although some of the "modern" examples were outdated, the principles were every bit as valid. He did a couple of sequels (Connections II & III), but IMHO, the original was best. I posted those starting last March.
Proof, the video is gone. the BBC said you can't have here.
ReplyDeleteHow rude!
ReplyDeleteI found a different copy. Let's see if the Beeb is any happier with this one.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time to see a Burke video. Very interesting. No posts up this a.m., but I did watch the video!
