Bottom line is, I didn't return to Apple to make a fortune. I've been very lucky in my life and already have one. When I was 25, my net worth was $100 million or so. I decided then that I wasn't going to let it ruin my life. There's no way you could ever spend it all, and I don't view wealth as something that validates my intelligence.

I saw a thumbnail of this picture on my sidebar, from Randy's Roundtable, and I thought...exactly! This guy should have been Time Magazine's person of the Year! Who has influenced American culture greater in the last year? The guy who gave you the iphone, ipad, ipod, etc, or the guys that gave you ipoop?

Randy, however was pursuing a different line of thought...

Steve Jobs' Stanford Commencement Speech -2005 (video)

If you haven't heard Steve Jobs' 2005 Stanford Commencement Speech, you've missed a rare treat. It would be hard to commemorate his life better than in his own words.



The introduction by Stanford President John Hennessy encapsulates his life nicely, for those who might not be as familiar with the man behind Pixar and Apple. Jobs' remarks begin around 7:30.

I think you'll find it inspirational.

Steve Jobs - R.I.P.

Steve Jobs, Apple Computer's co-creator, creative genius and on again off again CEO, succumbed to pancreatic cancer today. His family said he died "peacefully".
He was 56.
