Sic Transit Vintage Babes of the Week
They say that all good things must come to an end. I didn't have the heart to tell anybody yesterday, but Monica Lewis was our last Vintage Babe of the Week. The VBotW was not our first Rule Five acquisition. A blog I used to follow had a "Friday Night Babe" series which was discontinued after the blogger in question got married. Guess the missus was not a fan?
Anyhoo, I took up the mantle and there was a Friday Night Babe every week for a little over eleven years.
The Vintage Babes came along a little less than ten years ago, as a kind of tribute to the nose art and pin up pictures of Betty Grable and Rita Hayworth our fathers and grandfathers took to war with them, to remind them a little bit of what they were fighting for.
The original plan was to go back and recreate all the Vintage Babes that TinyPic wiped out. I have a list of around 100 names and IMDB links for about the next two years if anyone is moved to assume this mantle for themselves.
Email me if you're interested.
Bon soir, lovely ladies. It's been real!
The Vintage and Friday Night Babe collections are both back up on the sidebar.

Vintage Babe of the Week
My favorite Vintage Babe of the Week was Monica Lewis. I actually started following her on Twitter and she followed me back. Her Vintage Babe of the Week post was one of the last things she saw on this Earth before she passed away on June 12, 2015.
@ProofBlog So nice of you, Proof! Very flattering. THANK YOU for a lovely blog! I have Tweeted the link out to my online pals. With love, M.
— Monica Lewis (@songbirdmonica) June 12, 2015I originally had a different babe queued up for Jun 11, 2015, but, not to be morbid, I noted that Christopher Lee had just passed at age 93. I wanted to make sure she would see it, so I bumped the other babe and put on a little speed to finish Monica's that week. Little did I know... Life is short, people. Love 'em while you have 'em!
