Quote du jour
Senator Sanders’s giveaway to college borrowers will cost about $1.6 trillion. That’s enough to send a check for $125,000 to every American household in the poorest 10 percent or to buy about 15 million houses and give them away to poor people. Invested at a 3 percent return, that money could generate almost $90,000 a year to look after every homeless person in the United States — forever.-Kevin D. Williamson

Quote du jour
If you love to see Democratic candidates tearing into other Democratic candidates, the Las Vegas debate was joyous, beautiful, exciting, and wondrous. It was WrestleMania, it was Roman gladiators, it was a demolition derby. Don’t let anyone spin you; most of the candidates came out in worse shape than they entered.

The college-debt programs put forward both by Senator Elizabeth Warren (D., Harvard) and Senator Bernie Sanders (Socialist, Soviet Honkystan) both disproportionately benefit rich people. Sanders’s proposal would benefit the wealthy slightly more than Warren’s would.- Kevin D. Williamson

Quote du jour
"Every time he comforts us, our faith ought to resolve - 'this is from the Holy Spirit; he is the Comforter, the God of all consolation.' There is no joy, peace, hope nor comfort, but that he is working, giving, and bestowing it in his love. He was sent by the Father and the Son for this very end and purpose. By this means I have become a partaker of joy; it is in the Holy Spirit, he is the comforter."

POSSLQ Valentine
There's nothing that I wouldn't do-Charles Osgood
If you would be my POSSLQ.
You live with me, and I with you,
And you will be my POSSLQ.
I'll be your friend and so much more;
That's what a POSSLQ is for.
And everything we will confess;
Yes, even to the IRS
Someday, on what we both may earn,
Perhaps we'll file a joint return.
You'll share my pad, my taxes joint.
You'll share my life - up to a point!
And that you'll be so glad to do,
Because you'll be my POSSLQ.
Come live with me and be my love
And share the pain and pleasure of
The blessed continuity,
Official POSSLQuity.
And I will whisper in your ear.
That word you love so much to hear.
And love will stay forever new,
If you will be my POSSLQ.
