Cindy McCain - Drift Racer

There's a story by that wire service no one quotes any more, about Cindy McCain attending an Indy car race at the Nashville Superspeedway. She took a lap with Johnny Rutherford in the pace car, talked with 2004 Indy 500 winner Buddy Rice, and checked out Danica Patrick's car, among other things. She sounds like a lady who knows her way around a garage!

Then, almost at the end of the article, the wire service writer showed her ignorance of racing with this gem: (I have to quote it just so I can mock it!)

McCain, a racing fan who does something called drift racing with her son, planned to watch the 266-mile race from a luxury suite.

Something called drift racing?? Way to go, AP! Any of your people ever hear of "Google"? Research?? Or does she just figure her audience isn't too bright, so she talks down to them?

Oh, and way to go, Cindy! Maybe you could challenge Michelle to a little street race? Heh.
