Disease du Jour

Modern times bring forth modern diseases. It wasn’t until after the election of 2000 that anyone ever heard of Bush Derangement Syndrome. Repetitive motion injuries stack like sheaves of hay along side fields of data entry. But, just as carpal tunnel syndrome comes with repetitive movements of the wrist, so this new era of politics has spawned yet another new disease.

It seems as though every day, I hear the exploits of the Obama administration flying Air Force One at low altitude over New York City, with a fighter escort sans giving the public proper notice. I hear of Obama’s latest teleprompter encounter. I hear of the government assuming massive debt and taking control of banks and car companies…

…and I roll my eyes. In fact, I find myself rolling my eyes so often these days, that I fear the repetitive motion may cause damage. Look for reports of Repetitive Eye Rolling Motion Injuries to increase as Obama enters his next 100 days!
