I really hadn't intended to comment on the "Harry Reid is a racist" theme, but
How about the fact that everyone wants to excuse Reid for the "Negro" part, but what does it say about the Dimbulb from Searchlight, that he thinks such a thing as a "Negro dialect" exists?
Anyone want to buy Reid a dictionary??

3. a special variety of a language: The literary dialect is usually taken as the standard language.
4. a language considered as one of a group that have a common ancestor: Persian, Latin, and English are Indo-European dialects.
5. jargon or cant.
Any of these things seem race specific to you?

What is far more disturbing than Reid's comment itself, is that elected officials, paid with taxpayer dollars, would spend valuable time criticizing Reid, or any other politician who just happened to say something offensive, inappropriate, or stupid, instead of tending to the important business of the nation. And this applies to members of ALL political parties.
ReplyDeleteAnd why do they do it? To advance the long-term positive and material interests of the nation? No. Pure and simple grandstanding for their political purposes. They ALL should arguably be voted out at the next available opportunity. As for we citizens, we should never underestimate the power of laughter, and ignoring people.
Our elected officials are famous for wasting time better spent on taking care of their responsibilities.
ReplyDeleteAgain, I was going to overlook the comment myself as one more stupid hypocritical thing said by a clueless politician.
The "dialect" part seemed a higher level of stupidity than we should tolerate in elected officials, entrusted with our safety and the safety and well being of the economy and the Republic.
