I tried smoking a salmon once. I couldn't keep it lit!

the Interior Department is in charge of salmon while they’re in fresh water, but the Commerce Department handles them in when they’re in saltwater. And I hear it gets even more complicated once they’re smoked.

The Salmon spends some of its life in salt water and fresh water and in no way is protected by the Interior Department. Because it spends part of its life in salt water, the Commerce Department takes full responsibility for the salmon’s safety. I think Obama messed that one up a little bit!
ReplyDeleteThere may be quite a bit of fact checking going on about "the salmon line" (That might be a good name for his high speed rail project?). "Obama smoked salmon" seems to have been a very popular search last night.
ReplyDeleteI thought the "smoked salmon" line was hilarious! I don't think that I've ever laughed out loud during a State of the Union speech due to mirth rather than cynicism.
