The White House approved an exemption in Obamacare coverage for Congress and members of their staff. Members complained that the Affordable Care Act will cost them thousands extra a year in premiums. Wait a minute. It’s their bill. If it’s too expensive, why did they name it the Affordable Care Act?- Jay Leno

Originally I heard that by the time O-Care was passed, Congress had to be a part of the program. Then I heard Congress had exempted themselves. Then the news that staffers are exempted, the IRS, all those who are tasked with pushing this onto us.
ReplyDeleteThen today Rand Paul said every member of Congress IS ON THE PLAN, not exempted. I can't keep up.

My understanding is that every member of Congress IS on the plan, only we subsidize about 75% of it, in addition to their salaries. To say they're no exempted when they are heavily subsidized by the taxpayer is at least mildly disingenuous.
