So true. I remember the same junk scientists screaming global cooling back in the late 70s, as an example. I'll have more to say in a post on my blog site when I look up some things to quote. There's some Biblical Scripture in the book of Proverbs that seem to fit here, and I want to do it the right way.
I've told the story more than once, about when we were home schooling our kids and the venerable Weekly Reader sent me a sample issue, hoping I would subscribe.
The sample issue contained a map puzzle, but unlike the map puzzles of my day (Which country produces the most wheat? Which country produces the most steel?) They had a map showing which countries produced the most, and I quote, "ozone killing chlorofluorocarbons". In fact, in order to drive the point home, they used the phrase "ozone killing chlorofluorocarbons" over and over again. Subtle.
I opted for something a little less propaganda driven.
Better to teach them how to think for themselves than to propagandize them (about global warming, etc.).
