I keep hearing about "toxic masculinity", but it seems to me that toxic feminism, instead of elevating all women, identifies which women it is permissible to destroy.-Mike B

Prior to 2011, almost all illegal aliens at the border were single adult males, overwhelmingly from Mexico. Now, 40 percent of illegal aliens at the border are families and children, and almost half are from Central America.-Rich Lowry
For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty. Sgt. Lemon (then Sp4c.), Company E, distinguished himself while serving as an assistant machine gunner during the defense of Fire Support Base Illingworth. When the base came under heavy enemy attack, Sgt. Lemon engaged a numerically superior enemy with machinegun and rifle fire from his defensive position until both weapons malfunctioned.
He then used hand grenades to fend off the intensified enemy attack launched in his direction. After eliminating all but 1 of the enemy soldiers in the immediate vicinity, he pursued and disposed of the remaining soldier in hand-to-hand combat. Despite fragment wounds from an exploding grenade, Sgt. Lemon regained his position, carried a more seriously wounded comrade to an aid station, and, as he returned, was wounded a second time by enemy fire.
Disregarding his personal injuries, he moved to his position through a hail of small arms and grenade fire. Sgt. Lemon immediately realized that the defensive sector was in danger of being overrun by the enemy and unhesitatingly assaulted the enemy soldiers by throwing hand grenades and engaging in hand-to-hand combat. He was wounded yet a third time, but his determined efforts successfully drove the enemy from the position. Securing an operable machinegun, Sgt. Lemon stood atop an embankment fully exposed to enemy fire, and placed effective fire upon the enemy until he collapsed from his multiple wounds and exhaustion. After regaining consciousness at the aid station, he refused medical evacuation until his more seriously wounded comrades had been evacuated.
Sgt. Lemon's gallantry and extraordinary heroism, are in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit on him, his unit, and the U.S. Army.
“A nation reveals itself not only by the men it produces, but also by the men it honors; the men it remembers.”
Be it so. This burning of widows is your custom; prepare the funeral pile. But my nation has also a custom. When men burn women alive we hang them, and confiscate all their property. My carpenters shall therefore erect gibbets on which to hang all concerned when the widow is consumed. Let us all act according to national customs.-Sir Charles James Napier
The problem with Trump is that he thinks everything is about him. The problem with too many of his critics is that they do too.-Brit Hume

I'm trying to remember a failed presidential candidate before now who made a second career out of whining about losing an election. Sure, Al Gore cried into his Hostess snack cakes for a while after his devastating loss, but then he found much greater success by appointing himself President of the Environment. John Kerry managed to weasel his way into an office for which he was even less suited than his predecessor. John McCain went back to the Senate. And Mitt Romney has had to settle for being incredibly rich and absolutely right about everything he said during the 2012 campaign.-Jim Treacher
They all moved on with their lives. They all stopped mewling like a baby who didn't get a cookie before bed. But not Hillary Clinton. The first female major party candidate is also the first to make a job out of losing. She still hasn't forgiven you, America, for rejecting her
Illegal hot dog sales finally mustered the attention of Berkeley police, where arson, vandalism, and assaults on the First Amendment couldn't!-Mike B
High-school and college graduates don’t know very much about the world. Maybe before they set out to change things, they should get a good grasp of how things actually work. Ask them the difference between term- and whole-life insurance, or how to change a tire, or how much to save every month, or whether you should call a cop after a fender bender. Ask them if they’ve ever organized a dance, far less a factory.-Mona Charen
