Are You Happy With The Price You Pay at the Pump?

Then, thank a Democrat! I know that sounds kind of like a partisan shot, but really! Remember the bilge and blather that Nancy Pelosi and her cohorts have been pumping for years? Gasoline was $2.32/ gallon the day before Nancy Pelosi became Speaker of the House. She said that the price of gas was too high, and the Democrats were going to change that!

Millions were invested in "green" energy, billions were funneled to ethanol subsidies, tax breaks were taken away from oil companies, all of which were calculated by the Democrats to "help our economy", increase national security, and drive gas prices down. How successful have they been so far?

And the reasons they gave for the "high" gas price of $2.32 (and rising)? One of them that you just don't hear much any more, (wonder why?) is that the President (Bush) was "too cozy" with the oil companies. Remember that one? Well, for more than two years we have had a president who is definitely not "cozy" with big oil companies. (At least, not the ones in this country. Brazil is another story!). If the Democrats weren't totally delusional or lying to us, getting rid of that "cozy" relationship should have, according to them, caused gas prices to go down. How's that working out for them? For you? For the country?

They say the classic sign of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and looking for different results. How much longer are we going to leave energy policy in the hands of those who cannot even properly identify the problem much less offer a sane or rational solution?

Why Do Energy Crises Occur Under Democrat Presidents?

I don't know if you're old enough to remember, but back in 1993*, one of the arguments that President Bill Clinton had against drilling in ANWR (Alaskan National Wildlife Reserve), was that it would "take 20 years" for any oil drilled there to provide us any relief. While I doubt the accuracy of that statement, for the math impaired, I will note that had the US started to drill in 1977, when ANWR drilling was first proposed, that ANWR would have been providing the US with oil for 25 years now. Think about that. Had the Democrat president of the US, had the foresight to care for his nation not just past the latest polls, but for a quarter or half a century into the future, how much better off would we be today? 

Jimmy Carter before him, witnessed long lines at the gas pump. Only allowed to purchase gas on alternate days. His solution was to put on a sweater, turn down the thermostat at the White House and maybe throw a solar panel or two up on the roof. 

Gas prices went up under Obama. He refused to permit the Keystone XL, even though his own state department could find no valid reason to. When he came up for reelection, knowing the people wanted relief from high gas prices, posed for a photo op beside a portion of the XL pipeline, that he had no control over, and took credit for the increased oil production in the US, on state and private lands, despite the fact that he had banned drilling on government land and put much offshore drilling out of bounds for US oil production. 

Finally, we get to Joe "Where Am I?" Biden, who on day one of his administration, took the US from being energy self sufficient, to become once again dependent on foreign oil, making our economy dependent on foreign nations, many of which actively seek our harm or our demise. 

If you believe in the idea of a strong America, a bastion of democracy in a world of tyrants, we must put our leadership in the hands of those who not only want a strong and prosperous America today, but for the foreseeable future. 

 Remember this next election day.

*My bad! I originally stated 1977, which was when the question of drilling in ANWR began. Old age, slipping clogs and such!

When Joe Biden said he wouldn't raise taxes on anyone making less than $200,000... he lied.

Here's some of the damage so far:

The Spanish have a saying: "Whether the stone hits the pitcher, or the pitcher hits the stone, it's equally bad for the pitcher."
You're paying more for gas and groceries, and virtually everything else, to pay for the spending schemes of the Democrats. The dollars you already owned were worth less. The dollars you will earn in the next two years will not be worth as much in buying power, as they once were. Thanks, Joe Biden!

Do Sixties Radicals Own the Democrat Party?

Remember the highly forgetable Democrat Convention? They used an old Buffalo Springfield song from 1966 to end their show. The lyrics go:

Like the sixties counter culture, 21st. Century Democrats are highly suspicious of the police. (The Man, The "Heat").
You'd think a progressive political party would want to go with something other than a song that starts: "We're not exactly sure what's going on!"
The tie dye shirts are upstairs in a cedar chest. The man buns are finally in style (sort of). There's still a hint of patchoulli oil in the air, but the Sixties radicals are running the Establlishment now, at least on the Democrat side. Bill Ayers helped Obama get elected, and the Free Speech movement of Berkeley, which once argued for all speech to be heard (because theirs wasn't) now literally riots to shut down speech of anyone but themselves.
Into this mix march Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Kamala, the opportunist who slept her way into public office, only to be rated as left of Bernie Sanders as a senator, and Joe Biden, who, if elected, would be the firsts sitting president to be removed under the 25th. Amendment.

Please vote for Donald Trump like your republic depended on it!

The long overdue retirement of the ancient and crumbling Barbara Bouncer (D-CAlcified), got me to thinking about a piece I originally wrote in 2006 about the "new face" of the Democrat party. A few of the old souls have passed away, so I thought I'd give a quick update to the ruling class, still bellied up to the public trough.
