The Next Life Saving Drug May Be Your Own

This ad is predictably warm and fuzzy, yet it speaks to a greater point. I often hear people talk about the incredible markup of the ingredients of a drug and rail against so called price gouging by the pharmaceutical industry, without ever considering the millions of dollars of costs and years of research and testing that go into bringing the simplest of drugs to market.

Drugs: The Gift That Keeps on Giving!

Heard this on the radio the other day.

LINCOLN, Neb.- The Nebraska State Patrol says 15 1/2 pounds of pot was found gift-wrapped following a traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Lincoln.

...a trooper pulled over an eastbound car for speeding near the Lincoln Airport exit on Wednesday afternoon. A patrol dog taken to the scene alerted officers to drugs in the rear of the car.

The patrol said troopers then found the marijuana and a half pound of hashish...in two gift-wrapped boxes.

Troopers arrested the driver, 52-year-old Edwin Yearout, of Sacramento, Calif.

Stupid crooks! Ya gotta love 'em! No entrance exams or IQ tests for the School of Hard Knocks. These "gifts" ought to give him what? Five to ten?

Man Falls Out of Tree at Pot Rally

I mean, really! Who could have seen that coming?

Toronto: A man attending a pot rally at Queen's Park was sent to hospital Saturday after he fell out of a tree, police said.

The man was sitting on a branch which was about 20 or 30 metres above the ground just prior to the accident, police said.

Those wacky Canadians, eh? Not the first time a pot smoker has gone out of his tree, I'll wager!

Cocaine Cut With Possum Deworming Meds

I kid you not!

Cocaine's a hell of a drug, and even more so when laced with another drug that's commonly used to deworm opossums.

Now, those are words I've never heard strung together before!

Federal agents have found that 69 percent of cocaine shipments seized entering the United States contain levamisole, a veterinary drug linked to serious weakening of the immune system in humans.

Now, I wasn't tempted to take illegal drugs anytime soon, but how messed up or desperate do you have to be to ingest anything when you haven't a clue what it will do to you? And what of the possible consequences? What about a possible possum wear shortage if there's not enough drugs to deworm the little fellows?
