Curiosity killed the cat, but for a while, I was a suspect.
I love this guy, comedy genius and a true trailblazer- here's a gem, his debut on the Carson show...Stand-up Comedy Greats: Steven Wright Debuts on The Tonight Show - 1982
I like him because, unlike so many other comedians, you never know where this guy is going to go for a joke! He keeps you guessing and then, throws in a real zinger!
The timing is masterful, indeed
I saw him around 1987 at Harrahs Tahoe, best show ever.
All of those monotone one-liners with the weight of the world pressing down on him. Hilarious."If I'm driving at the speed of light and turn my headlights on, does anything happen?"
"It's a small world, but I wouldn't want to paint it."..or.."Some people are afraid of heights..I am afraid of widths."..or.."You can't have everything..where would you put it?"(God, I love his deadpan.)
