The Race, to Starbucks

Our friends at Starbucks want to start a new dialogue on race.

Me: "I'd like a coffee, black"

Barrista: "What do you mean by that, honky?"

  1. That's just what I want to do - have a conversation with a barrista at Starbucks about race.

Actually, it's not likely to happen since I never go to Starbucks. I can get coffee drinks at the grocery store that rival anything Starbucks makes for half the money.

  2. I heard a good take on what Starbucks may be trying to do. They are smart enough to know their "conversations about race" won't amount to a hill of beans (pun intended), but all the "Millennials" working for them need to feel that their jobs have "meaning". Lessen job turnover amongst their employees.

  3. After they refused to give our fighting men free coffee, I wouldn't pee on the if they were on fire. As a veteran, I was repulsed by this.

  5. Shouting:
NEVER DISCUSS RACE, RELIGION, OR POLITICS WITH SOMEONE WHO COULD SPIT ON YOUR ORDER…

especially with Aids and STDs hitchhiking on baristas.

  6. CB, don't know if you've heard of it or not, but you might be interested in the Green Beans coffee "Cup of Joe for a Joe" program.
