Not the first time speculation of his presidential run has been floated. Holder was the only US Attorney General in the history of the Republic to be held in both civil and criminal contempt during his time in office. He was Barack Obama's partner in crime, in decimating race relations during his tenure, opposing voter ID laws, fostering citizens' rights for enemy combatant terrorists and blundering in his disastrous attempt to foment new restrictions on the Second Amendment, with his ill fated Fast and Furious gun running scheme. That said, he may be the best that Democrats can offer!

Place Holder in History

One thing that ought not to surprise us, but still does, is Barack Obama's uncanny ability to tell whoppers with a straight face. Alongside "the police acted stupidly" and "If you like your doctor you can keep him", are his remarks over the resignation of attorney general Eric Holder. Via the Washington Post:

And through it all, he's shown a deep and abiding fidelity to one of our most cherished ideals as a people, and that is equal justice under the law.

George Zimmerman and Darren Wilson might have something contrary to say about that. Justice for Black Panthers, Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown and Henry Louis Gates...what do all these heroes of  the oxymoronically named Obama Justice Department have in common?

As younger men, Eric and I both studied law, and I chose him to serve as attorney general because he believes, as I do, that justice is not just an abstract theory, it's a living and breathing principle. It's about how our laws interact with our daily lives. It's about whether we can make an honest living...

An honest living? Apparently the answer to that was "no".

"...Eric's proudest achievement, though, might be reinvigorating and restoring the core mission to what he calls the conscience of the building, and that's the Civil Rights Division. He has been relentless against attacks on the Voting Rights Act because no citizen, including our service members, should have to jump through hoops to exercise their most fundamental right."

Jump through hoops? You mean like facing down jack booted thugs with billy clubs standing outside a voting booth? Holder's refusal to see these hoodlums justly punished, apparently only because of the color of their skin, ranks up there with the most egregious civil rights violations of the deeply segregated South.

Attacks on the voting rights of our servicemen? When Democrats hold strategy sessions on how to disallow the votes of our servicemen and women overseas, this is another "If you like your coverage you can keep it" statement.

Civil rights in regards to racial discrimination was ill served by the race pandering attorney general's office, which turned local law enforcement cases like Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown into racially divisive witch hunts, searching not for justice, but for a resolution that fit their racial bias narrative.

He's challenged discriminatory state immigration laws that not only risked harassment of citizens and legal immigrants, but actually made it harder for law enforcement to do its job.

He challenged the state of Arizona which tried to re-enforce federal legislation. Holder has successfully (and hypocritically) ignored all the the municipalities that ignore and even contradict federal immigration law with their "Sanctuary City" laws. Some animals are more equal than others.

Unless you're white and trying to exercise your right to vote and a New Black Panther stands in front of your polling place with a billy club.

So soon, Eric, Sharon and their kids will be a bit freer to pursue a little more happiness of their own, and thanks to Eric's efforts, so will more Americans, regardless of race or religion, gender or creed, sexual orientation or disability who will receive fair and equal treatment under the law.

I wonder if Obama believes that Brian Terry will be a bit freer to pursue happiness? How about Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi? (Chris Stevens, Sean Smith , Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods could not be reached for comment). Via executive privilege, Obama continues to obstruct Congressional investigations into Fast and Furious, and also  refuses to give an accounting of exactly what took place the night of Sept. 11, 2012. There was no accountability for the lack of security in the face of repeated requests from Chris Stevens, or the lack of a rescue mission, or even possible stand down orders, and there was no curiosity at all on the part of Obama's lap dog attorney general about any of them. And neither Obama or Holder has raised a finger to free Sgt. Tahmooressi, the only person on the planet not allowed to cross our southern border.

Don't get me wrong! I'm glad to see Holder go. It's only six years too late. I am on record as opposing his appointment six years ago, and sadly it's been far worse than I imagined.

The only question now is, given who Obama is, will his next choice be as bad or worse? I have said elsewhere that we should be so lucky as to have Obama appoint someone with enough integrity to investigate Holder after he's gone, but I'm not holding my breath.

It's Official! Eric Holder is the Worst Attorney General in the History of the Republic

From the very beginning, Eric Holder has been a disaster. I was on the record opposing his appointment long before the full measure of his bias and incompetence came to light. From the New Black Panther case, where he refused to pursue punishment in a slam dunk case of voter intimidation, strictly because of the color of the offenders' skin, to Fast and Furious, the ill conceived attempt to erode the Second Amendment, via the botched and clumsy gun running program that his department revived (after the Bush administration had terminated it due to its inherent unworkability) and expanded it, resulting in the deaths of a Border Patrol agent, a Mexican chief of police and hundreds of innocent men, women and children south of our southern border.

The oxymoronically named Obama Justice department even sent community organizers down to Florida to gin up protests and incite feelings against George Zimmerman. This was the use of our tax dollars to fund the expenses of AstroTurf rallies, prejudicial towards a citizen presumed innocent under the law. We expect the justice system to be impartial, not to pick winners and losers based on anything other than the law itself. Eric Holder is a disgrace.

And now, in front of the NAACP, the man who called America a nation of cowards, seeks to impose his own cowardice on the right of free citizens to defend themselves.

"It's time to question laws that senselessly expand the concept of self-defense and sow dangerous conflict in our neighborhoods. (Cheers, applause.) These laws try to fix something that was never broken. There has always been a legal defense for using deadly force if -- and the "if" is important -- if no safe retreat is available."

"Senselessly". A man who has the FBI to provide him personal protection thinks that you defending yourself in your own home is "senseless".

Not true. People have been prosecuted for defending themselves in their own homes. Stand your ground laws and castle doctrines were formulated to protect the rights of citizens to protect them from weasels who spout things like:

Do you understand what he said? If you are in the comparative safety of your own home, and someone invades your house, perhaps carrying weapons and threatening your life and property, Eric Holder says you have a DUTY to run away. Talk about cowardice!

I personally don't believe I have a duty to retreat from my own home if it is invaded. The invader is the one who has a duty to avoid entering my house uninvited. Besides, the weaselly, cowardly AG does not demonstrate how "outside" is necessarily safer than "inside". What if the invader who breached the four walls of my house decides to pursue me outside? Make my stand standing in the bushes, perhaps?

The aphorism "a man's home is his castle" has been around for far longer than the cowardly, craven Eric Holder has been alive. It is part of that "common sense" that he falsely attributes to retreat. One can make defensible places inside one's home. A safe room, if one is so inclined. Proximity to a phone line to call for help. A weapon secured for just such a circumstance. My back yard, on the other hand, is about as defensible as invoking executive privilege for Fast and Furious, or snooping on AP reporters...there's a clear line of sight from virtually every window and door to the six foot fence I would have to scale to put any real distance between myself and an attacker. But, all that aside, perhaps Mr. Holder would care cite the statute or legal doctrine that imposes upon us the "duty" to flee our own homes when attacked?

Beuller? Beuller??

The Obama administration is rife with malcontents, mountebanks and ne'er do wells. And as such, Eric Holder fits right in. I suspect he will be a part of Obama's Reign of Error until the bitter end.

Elections have consequences.

Eric Holder Held in Contempt of Congress in Two Votes

U S Attorney General Eric Holder was held in contempt of Congress on two separate votes, one civil and one criminal. I heard Mr. Holder give a statement in his own defense, where he tried lamely to state that Fast and Furious was a continuation of a Bush era program. Unfortunately for Holder and other liars in this administration, operation Wide Receiver, which was started under the Bush administration, with the knowledge and cooperation of the Mexican government, was able to actually track a much smaller number of guns. The program was shut down two years prior to the Obama administration's Fast and Furious, because of the difficulty in keeping track of the weapons.

In addition, the Obama administration did not inform the Mexican government of the program, nor were any arrests made, as was the case under Wide Receiver.

Fast and Furious is a wholly owned subsidiary of the oxymoronically named "Obama Justice Department", which sent false testimony to Congress denying that the program even existed.

Tell that to Border Patrol agent Brian Terry and some 200-300 dead Mexican citizens killed with weapons obtained illegally and "walked" across the border, aided and abetted by the Obama DOJ.

One of These Things is Not Like the Other

Martha Stewart was found guilty on four counts of obstructing justice for lying to federal investigators. She was sentenced to five months in prison.

Roger Clemons was charged with lying to Congress, facing up to 21 months in prison if convicted. He was acquitted.

Scooter Libby told the truth to Congress, but his recollections differed from another witness, so he was sentenced to a 30-month prison term, which was later commuted.

Eric Holder both lied repeatedly and presented false testimony to Congress (Mr. Holder believes there's a difference!). In addition, he refuses to turn over documents that could clarify exactly who is responsible for the Fast and Furious debacle which lead to the death of Border Patrol agent Brian A. Terry and literally hundreds of Mexican citizens.

Guess which one of these four is not or has not been under indictment for lying? Guess which one liberal Democrats are trying in vain to defend?

Hey, Nancy! What do you call someone who is "assigned" to do something and then doesn't do it? Note she didn't say "the person who actually has blocked voter suppression in our country", because that would mean doing things like prosecuting the New Black Panthers when they practiced voter intimidation in Philadelphia, which he didn't.

Why is it that when anyone else lies to Congress over matters as insignificant as to whether or not baseball players used performance enhancing drugs, they throw the book at them, but when someone sworn to uphold the law, who holds the highest law enforcement office in the land, lies over policies with international repercussions, that got people killed because of seeming incompetence, with indications of a cover up of that incompetence, which could reach to the highest levels of government, partisan hacks like Nancy Pelosi can't even generate a little faux attention?

No, Nancy Pelosi, running away from Holder's lies and incompetence like Barack Obama running away from his record on the economy, is left with nothing but race baiting innuendo.

Someone tell me again how this ditz got to be Speaker of the House? This Halloween, when you need to tell a scary story, tell the one how Nancy Pelosi was second only to Joe Biden in the line of succession to the Presidency. But first, warn anyone with a weak heart!

Note: He didn't violate the law. He didn't sign Holder's name, but he could have. He didn't say "I'm Eric Holder", he asked, "Do you have an Eric Holder, of such and such an address."

Had it been a fraudulently registered, ACORN style, lineman for the Dallas Cowboys, all he would have needed to know was the fake name and the address associated with the fraudulent registration.

Eric Holder of the oxymoronic Obama Justice Department, notwithstanding, we need to verify that those people who choose our leaders, which will have incredible influence over our lives and liberty, are who they say they are, in order for democracy to flourish and stand.

Holder refused to say whether or not he would voluntarily appear before the committee again, but only that he would "consider it". (Issue the subpoena, Mr. Issa!)

Striking too, the five boxes of email that was provided by just one gun dealer compared to the amount of evidence the entire DoJ was able to contribute.

It is hard to believe that there was not a single email from the Attorney General regarding an operation that required the purchase and distribution of guns, which were to be sold illegal, with a near certainty that they would be transported into a neighboring country and used by violent criminals.

How incompetent is the oxymoronic Obama Justice Department, that no one knows who authorized this program? Can you say "cover up"? Sgt. Eric Shultz knows "nussing".

For the good of the country, Holder should immediately resign. Failing that, Obama should fire him. Failing that, we need to clean out this entire rat's nest in Washington in November of 2012.

"Fast and Furious" Weapons Found at More Crime Scenes

Speaking of Barney Fife Holder, the fallout from the Fast and Furious debacle just keeps on coming.

Firearms from the ATF's Operation Fast and Furious weapons trafficking investigation turned up at the scenes of at least 11 violent crimes in the U.S., as well as at a Border Patrol agent's slaying in southern Arizona last year, the Justice Department has acknowledged to Congress.

The department did not provide details about the crimes. But The Times has learned that they occurred in several Arizona cities, including Phoenix, where Fast and Furious was managed, as well as in El Paso, where a total of 42 weapons from the operation were seized at two crime scenes.

Since Eric Holder was at the top of the food chain in the oxymoronically named Obama Justice Department, what did he know and when did he know it?

...But a source close to the controversy, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the continuing investigation, said that as early as January 2010, just after the operation began, weapons had turned up at crime scenes in Phoenix, Nogales, Douglas and Glendale in Arizona, and in El Paso. The largest haul was 40 weapons at one crime scene in El Paso.

In all, 57 of the operation's weapons were recovered at those six crime scenes, in addition to the two seized where Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was killed.

Weich's letter also said a total of 1,418 firearms were circulated under the program. How many remain missing in the U.S. and Mexico is unclear. The total is considerably lower than earlier estimates, when authorities said that at least 2,000 guns had vanished.

Hey! I've got an idea! Let's facilitate the sale of deadly weapons to a bunch of really bad people doing really bad things, because maybe, somehow, in some way we're not quite sure of, we can track these guns to someone we can maybe arrest, after they've committed even more crimes. What could possibly go wrong?

Maggie's Notebook has this video about the potential interference of adjudicating Arizona's border enforcement law by foreign nations and the seeming complicity of Eric Holder and the oxymoronically named Obama justice department.



Though the video's headline speaks of "impeaching" Obama. I am not ready to go that far. But it does seem as if the only way to rid ourselves of this biased and perhaps incompetent Attorney General Eric Holder is to fire his boss.

Krauthammer on the Folly of Trials of Terrorists in Civilian Courts

Krauthammer speaks of the "high protection" afforded to American citizens under the Constitution. These protections were never intended to be extended to illegal combatants who kill Americans and attempt to undermine our nation.

Anyone else get the impression that choosing Eric Holder, who once worked for a law firm providing pro bono defense for terrorists, to prosecute the terrorists, might not have been the best judgment here?
