Quote du jour

I confess, after years of "teabagger" snickering, grotesque fingerpointing over the Tucson shooting, and most recently the high-fiving on Twitter over Breitbart's death, it's increasingly difficult to blog about these sporadic "civility" lectures. What's left to say? They're frauds. They care about "tone" precisely to the extent that it can be exploited to electoral advantage and no further.

And Liberals Think Sarah Palin is Dumb... -video

Mr. Pinko, over at I Own the World has put together this great video of liberals criticizing Sarah Palin contrasted with a multitude of clips from Obama and Joe Biden that make Sarah look like a Rhodes Scholar.

Not a lot in this collection that we haven't seen before, but never so much in just one place. Go visit Mr. Pinko, and tell him what a great job he did.

"Cross Hairs" - Tempest in a Tea Party

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Tim Pawlenty jabs Sarah Palin over 'cross hairs'

The term "Cross hairs" is a bit of an anachronism, a throwback to the days when actual hairs were used as reticles in optics.

Reticle
   /ˈrɛtɪkəl/[ret-i-kuhl]
–noun Optics .
a network of fine lines, wires, or the like placed in the focus of the eyepiece of an optical instrument.

And, though they are found in rifle and pistol scopes, they are not exclusive to them. If you've ever seen a surveyor's transit, a similar reticle is used to take precise measurements. It is not synonymous in and of itself with assassination or death. And the difference between superimposing a reticle on a map as opposed to a target or a "bullseye" (as Democrats and liberals have done in the not too recent past) is negligible. A tempest in a tea pot. Hypocrisy of the first order.

Why are we not surprised?

Update: It seems that Markos Moulitsas of Daily Kos fame, who asked why Palin scrubbed the "surveyor's mark map from her website if she was not ashamed of it, has been scrubbing his own comments. Specifically, one about a t-shirt showing Palin's face in crosshairs that are "not a surveyor's mark".

They should be ashamed of themselves, if only the Left were capable of shame.

Fox News contributor Juan Williams said Sunday that Sarah Palin "can't stand on the intellectual stage" with President Obama

I think what he means is that there just isn't room for her, what with all his teleprompters...

Obama Related to Limbaugh and Palin

Hard to say who is more chagrined...Limbaugh or Palin!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Genealogy always struck me as one of those Six Degrees of Separation from Kevin Bacon kind of things, but as it turns out, Palin and Obama are 10th cousins! (For all you Miscegenationists that's not 1/10th cousins!)

NEW YORK – President Barack Obama has family ties to none other than Sarah Palin, according to the genealogists at Ancestry.com, a discovery the family history site made when looking for connections between political foes.

And that's not all — Obama also is apparently related to conservative radio host and relentless critic Rush Limbaugh.

A genealogist at the Utah-based Ancestry.com, Anastasia Tyler, said Obama and Palin are 10th cousins through a common ancestor named John Smith, a pastor and early settler in 17th-century Massachusetts. Obama is related to Smith through his mother, as is Palin, Tyler said.

"Smith was against the persecution of the Quakers," Tyler said in an interview. "He was a very socially conscious man."

As for Limbaugh, he's also a 10th cousin of the president — one time removed — through a common ancestor named Richmond Terrell, who Tyler said was a large landowner in Virginia, also in the 17th century.

Somebody's just dying to say "Politics makes strange bedfellows", aren't they?

Two Classless Democrats Wish Palin Dead

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

At least one of them had sufficient shame to resign.

CONCORD, N.H.—Leaders from both political parties called on a Democratic candidate for New Hampshire's House to apologize Wednesday for posting a death wish for Sarah Palin on Facebook.

Republican state Rep. D.J. Bettencourt said Democrat Keith Halloran of Rindge was responding to Bettencourt's post Tuesday about the plane crash that killed former Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens. Bettencourt said Halloran wrote: "Just wish Sarah and Levy were on board," an apparent reference to the former Alaska governor and her daughter's ex-boyfriend, Levi Johnston.

Man! Imagine if a Republican had said that about a member of the First Family! Or any prominent Democrat!

(CNN) - A New Hampshire state legislator resigned his office Thursday after becoming the second Democrat in as many days to speculate about Sarah Palin's death on Facebook.

State Rep. Timothy Horrigan made the remarks Wednesday night in a thread discussing the Alaska plane crash that killed former Sen. Ted Stevens.

"Well a dead Palin would be even more dangerous than a live one...she is all about her myth & if she was dead she couldn't commit any more gaffes," Horrigan wrote.

Horrigan was commenting on another post by a Democrat running for the state house, party activist Keith David Halloran, who found himself in hot water Wednesday after writing about the crash: "Just wish Sarah and Levy [sic] were on board."

Just gotta say that the Dems must be crapping their nappies in fear over Sarah Palin. Why else so much vitriol and hatred?

Stay classy, Democrats!
