Do Inaccurate Polls Abet Voter Fraud?

One of the reasons I believe that polling is so overblown, consider Hillary over Trump in 2016, Biden over Trump in 2020, is to mask, to a certain extent, voter fraud. We have been treated to, in recent times, reports of precincts where more votes were cast than the number of registered voters. This points to obvious voter fraud. It is a physical impossibility to have more legal votes in any given precinct than you have registered voters. Even if you had 100% turnout, which is highly unlikely, you have voter fraud.

This was one of the goals of groups like ACORN, which would register voters like Mickey Mouse, the starting lineup of the Dallas Cowboys, etc., and some people laughed, thinking, "No one is going to go to the polls and try to vote as 'Mickey Mouse'." True. But it inflates the number of registered voters. The more registered voters you have, the easier it is to slip in illegal ballots, without detection.

For example, let's imagine a township of 100 eligible voters, which has a fairly high registration rate of 85%. Turnout for most elections is also high, at 40-50%, or at least was considered high 20-30 years ago. Under those conditions, a majority of approximately 42-43 people determine the outcome of the election.

If someone submitted an addition fifteen fraudulent registrations, it might be seen as implausible, but not impossible. Hard to prove without an intensive search. Assuming our 43 loyal voters are pretty evenly split, an extra fifteen illegal votes would insure an almost certain victory in any election, a 37 to 21 break, with 58 total votes -less than the total of either registered or eligible voters. Under those circumstances who would even raise an eyebrow over the results. Because, we trust our elected officials to protect us from that sort of thing, right?

But it seems our current generation is not leaving anything to chance. More and more "amateurs" are trying their hand at voter fraud. We are ending up with precincts which have more registered voters than eligible voters, according to the census. We have elections with even more ballots than registered voters, as well. What percentage of our elections are being swayed by illegal votes? One is too many. Our Republic is governed by the consent of the governed. I am perfectly willing to be on the losing end of any vote or proposition where the votes are honestly tallied.

The idea of one man, one vote, implicitly implies: one man, only one vote.

Ballot harvesting must be made illegal nationwide. There is far too much opportunity for vote tampering and fraud when you interrupt the chain of custody of the vote. There should be a "positive purge" of voter registration record to eliminate those who are dead, or moved, whose numbers increase both the possibility of voter fraud, but obstruct its detection. Penalties for voter fraud should be increased, and in my humble opinion, people who commit voter fraud should themselves be disenfranchised, to where they lose the right to vote, to have any say in the governance of this country.

And polling? Again, it's a managing of expectations. if in our mythical township of 100, the "polls" indicated that all your neighbors favored a candidate or a proposition by 15%, (when in fact, it was illegal votes that favored the winner), most people would just shrug, accept the loss and go on with their lives. That's why we need transparency and accountability.

One man, only one vote.

I heard a sob story on the news today, in relation to the Pennsylvania Voter ID law. A spokesperson for a group opposing voter ID said that such laws "hurt the poor, the elderly and the handicapped", who must be somehow disproportionately unable to obtain the photo ID essential for so much of a person's life.

I dealt with this at some length in "Voter "Suppression" Laws, and Other Myths", but there was one thing that occurred to me today, that I don't remember anyone else bringing up. Perhaps, it's because the arguments against voter ID are so patently false, shallow and preposterous that they scarcely deserve a serious debunking.

If there were a small percentage of the population that does not have a driver's license (when most states offer an alternate photo ID), was too poor (unlikely, since most states have a provision for free IDs), elderly (as if this were a disability - ask the next senior you meet just how incompetent they are...then duck!) or handicapped, upon whom it would be a hardship to obtain the photo ID they need to drive, or fly, or cash a check, or purchase alcohol, or enter Federal buildings, or purchase real estate, or any number of activities engaged in by the majority of productive and nonproductive Americans alike, then efforts could be made to assist them, right?

Most people drive themselves to their polling places, some may catch a ride with a friend, but those who do not have driver's licenses, or are too infirm to drive themselves...typically do not go to the polling places at all! They vote absentee! What better candidate for an absentee ballot than someone without the ability or means to drive themselves to the polls??

And now, are all you liberals, from the Democrat Party, Official Sponsor of Voter Fraud™, going to tell us that all those potentially disenfranchised voters, who are all duly registered, had the ability, somehow, to legally register to vote, but are not competent enough to request a simple absentee ballot?? Good luck with that!

Sorry, libs! Your case against voter ID, which was always weak, is now deader than a Cook County Democrat voter!

Voter "Suppression" Laws, and Other Myths

Of all the Big Lies told by Democrats in the last few years, not many come close to the magnitude that requiring a photo ID to vote is somehow "voter suppression". Unless you affix a single word in front of it: "Illegal". Good citizens really have no problem with the concept of suppressing illegal votes.

There is nothing in a requirement to show a valid ID at a polling place that is "racist" or substantially different than there is at a bank when you cash a check, an airport where you board a plane or entry to a federal courthouse.

In fact, to me, it is at least mildly to downright insulting, to claim that "minorities" are disproportionately less likely to have or to be able to obtain a photo ID, and therefore their votes would be "suppressed". This sounds very much like that form of colonial paternalism, that "these people" cannot fend for themselves, therefore the Great White Father must do their thinking for them. Balderdash!

And since the photo ID is the 'lingua franca" of identification, as it were, opening avenues of commerce, prosperity and success, why isn't the focus to help the disadvantaged, whatever their race, creed or color, to obtain the very document that will help to garner a measure of prosperity for themselves. How many successful people do you know who do not have at least one photo ID?

I vaguely remember back in the misty recesses of time, obtaining my first driver's license. As I recall, I needed to bring my birth certificate and possibly one or two other documents to the DMV. After that, it was always much easier to show my driver's license than to carry my birth certificate with me everywhere. When I moved to Ohio, I needed a photo ID and a Social Security card to get a driver's license. Since I couldn't find my SS card after a cross country move, I had to go down to the SS office, where they required a photo ID to get a new card. At this point I yelled "racist!" and stormed out of the office! Well, no, actually, I showed them the California DL I had gotten so many years before. Problem solved.

Was it a hassle? A minor one, yes. I had to make about three or four trips, typically during my lunch break, so that I could meet the requirements of driving legally in Ohio. I then took my newly minted Ohio driver's license and registered to vote.

At this point, I want to touch on the myth of the absolute right of a citizen to vote, because it is "Constitutionally protected", unlike driving a car, boarding a plane, etc. It is Constitutionally protected. And though some zealots say it as if "ConstitutionallyProtectedRightToVote" was all one word, it is not and it is not, by the way, absolute.

I say that, because I spent part of an afternoon last week, listening to a fellow on the radio, who was convinced that one's ConstitutionallyProtectedRightToVote was an absolute, and therefore could not be restricted in any way by any of the fifty states. After all, he argued, it was a

Federally.
Constitutionally.
Protected.
Right.

So by what right could the states restrict it in any way? In fact, he was so sure of his "logic" that he posited that the reason advocates for voter ID had not brought the matter before the Supreme Court, was that "they knew they'd lose". After all, the right is absolutely protected by the Federal Constitution, right?

Well, as he imagined it...not so much. I've got a few questions for him to ponder: Question number one: Can sixteen year old citizens vote? No. So there's your first restriction. Voting is not absolutely to every citizen without restriction. There is a legal age requirement. Strike one.

Question number two: Can convicted felons vote? Here it gets a little trickier. It is my understanding that, while in some states convicted felons lose their right to vote, other states have been more "progressive" in allowing felons to vote. So, it would appear that some states can and have placed restrictions on who can vote, not based on race, color or creed, but on their criminal activity. Still a citizen, but not a voter. Strike two.

And even more importantly, to my mind, is that you have to register to vote. Voting may be a right conferred upon you at birth, but if you do not accept your responsibility as a citizen and register, you are not eligible to vote. Period. Strike three. (You're out!)

If I were to cross the border into Nevada this November, and walk into the nearest polling place and tell them I want to vote, they would ask me my name (whether I showed them an ID or not). And when they did not find it on the rolls, they might ask me if I were registered within their district. At which point, I tell them it doesn't matter whether or not I am registered, I have a Constitutionally protected right to vote! (I would say this in a big, booming voice, so they would know I have the power of Right on my side!)

I'm taking bets - do you think the next phone call they would make would be to the looney bin or the cops? I'd say about even money.

And having moved across the country several times, I am also cognizant of time restrictions on registrations. If the state I move into has a deadline 90 days before an election, to register to vote in the next election, and I register 85 days before the election, I can't legally vote...in that election.

And in the bigger scheme of things, there may be people who through neglect or forgetfulness because of all the things involved in a move, big or small, may disenfranchise themselves..for a single election. That doesn't mean forever banned, it just means they might have to sit one out. The system relies on the responsibility of the citizens to keep themselves informed and do what is necessary, so as not to restrict their franchise.

Just for grins, I went online to see what the state of California currently requires for voter registration:

Your California driver license or identification number, if you have one, or the last four digits of your social security number, if you have one. If you do not have any of these numbers, the state will assign you a unique identification number.

Three out of four either are, or require a photo ID to obtain. The fourth, I don't know how they verify that you are who you say your are.

Those on the Left are on the record as favoring "One man, one vote." I agree. But I would add, "One man, only one vote." The idea that a vote is so precious there should be no restrictions on casting one, rings hollow if it is not so precious as to be protected against counterfeits. As counterfeit money devalues legitimate currency, so counterfeit votes devalue legitimate ones.

In a sharply divided society, people have to be able to trust in the integrity of our electoral system, in order for them to accept being on the losing end of the popular vote. The alternatives are unacceptable.

Update : I was thinking of asking one of the liberal commenters for a list of all those "minorities" who are too incompetent to obtain a photo ID for themselves, then I remembered our friends at Moooove On did it for them. From an email Steven Biel sent me:

"...voter suppression laws passed by Republicans in battleground states to make it as hard as possible for students, poor people, African-Americans, and Latinos to vote."

Stop laughing! Yes, he said "students". I may not remember the DMV, but I remember high school, and I did not know a kid who was sixteen years old or older who wasn't doing everything in his or her power to obtain their driver's license.

Please Steven, send me a list of all the students you know who are old enough to vote, but don't have a driver's license. Note: Sheldon Cooper doesn't count because he's fictional, much like most of your objections.

Note: He didn't violate the law. He didn't sign Holder's name, but he could have. He didn't say "I'm Eric Holder", he asked, "Do you have an Eric Holder, of such and such an address."

Had it been a fraudulently registered, ACORN style, lineman for the Dallas Cowboys, all he would have needed to know was the fake name and the address associated with the fraudulent registration.

Eric Holder of the oxymoronic Obama Justice Department, notwithstanding, we need to verify that those people who choose our leaders, which will have incredible influence over our lives and liberty, are who they say they are, in order for democracy to flourish and stand.

More States Require ID to Vote

About time! You need an ID to cash a check, to drive a car, to get on an airplane, to get a job, to receive medical or Social Security benefits...who are these mythical creatures wandering the US without valid IDs? Are we to allow people not capable of obtaining a photo ID for themselves to decide the complex matters facing our cities, states and country? Should we help facillitate the fraud that is committed far too often in local, state and national elections?

The fact that there are too many narrowly won races that turn out to have had more people cast ballots than were registered to vote, requires that we do something to restore the integrity of our voting system. "One man one vote" means one man only one vote.

WASHINGTON — State legislatures across the country have passed a record number of laws this year requiring photo identification to vote, a controversial move pushed by Republicans and opposed by Democrats.

Proponents say the measures prevent vote fraud. Opponents say they are designed to stifle turnout among students, poor people and minorities, who are more likely to vote for Democrats but might lack government-issued IDs, such as driver's licenses and passports.

In California, those who do not wish to get a driver's license can obtain a state photo ID. How can you function in this society without a valid ID? Why would you want to? (Persons in the country illegally and those who commit voter fraud come to mind!)

David Axelrod, (Captain Combover) a top strategist in President Obama's re-election campaign, called the wave of new legislation a "calculated strategy" by Republicans to "hold down [illegal] voter turnout."

"Wisconsin City Caught Destroying Ballots"

Color me surprised! I mean, why be content with flooding the airwaves with millions of dollars of dishonest advertising when you can put your thumb on the scale and eliminate those pesky ballots right at the source?

As if the situation in Wisconsin wasn't tense enough, it appears that one county in particular is going to a new extreme. This comes after word that there may have been voter fraud in the nonpartisan State Supreme Court election yesterday between incumbent David Prosser and JoAnne Kloppenburg.

For some reason one of the counties in the state is destroying ballots that 'were not counted' yesterday.

They may need more than a recount in Wisconsin. They may need a "do over".

The allegations of voter intimidation that "no one wanted to deal with" in 2008 are now being brought to light. What's the difference between 2008 and 2010? How about eighteen months of the most dismal performance by a modern president?

The documentary which could not get a hearing or see the light of day in 2008, was because the tabula rasa that was Barack Obama was shiny and new and full of promise. Who could know at that time that he was nothing but promises and the promises he neither intended to or was able to keep?

But the novelty of being America's "golden boy", its first black president, has come and gone. The veneer of competence that he projected, despite the thinnest of résumés, has worn through. Other than shaving a few strokes off his golf game and spending our grandchildren's inheritance, can anyone name any substantive accomplishment of Barack Hussein Obama? On the contrary, most people can point to one or more areas where American has gone backwards. The space program is an excellent example of that. From JFK's vision of going to the moon in ten years, Obama has gutted NASA and redirected the shell that remains to tend to the touchy feely religion of global warming and "outreach" to the Muslim community. If we ever needed a source of renewable power, we could hook a generator up to JFK spinning madly in his grave over the lost legacy of space exploration.

The first shot across Obama's bow (bow! How apropos!), was James Carville's criticism over his handling of the BP oil disaster. This is phase two. As they say in the nature documentaries, the wounded Wildebeest has been cut off from the herd, and is surrounded. The meme of Obama's competence and potential lies shattered on the oil soaked beaches on the Gulf Coast, while he shanked a few balls on the eighteenth green.

If Obama stole the election, from whom did he steal it? Hillary. The "so and so stole the election" didn't work out so well for Gore, but then, Hillary is not the same sex crazed poodle as Al is.

This will just be one more weapon in the arsenal of Hillary-2012.

Now, perhaps I could start composing the "Obama is toast" companion piece?

Andrew Sullivan posted an interesting graph on the Iranian election returns:



I don't know how many election nights you've stayed up, watching early and late returns, but never have I seen an election where the percentage of votes going to the eventual winner was the exact same percentage all night!

The consensus is, that the election results were fixed, and pretty blatantly so.
Ahmadinejad has his hands firmly on the levers of power. He apparently feels the need to put forth some sham of an election, but not worried whether or not it's credible!

Franken Loses Court Effort to Dismiss Coleman

The "mouth that roared" will have to defend his ill gotten victory in court!

Al Franken's effort to block Norm Coleman's lawsuit over the U.S. Senate recount was rejected Thursday by a three-judge panel, setting the stage for a trial to begin Monday on the Republican's claims.

State election law doesn't undermine the Senate's constitutional power to later judge the qualifications of its members, the judges said in denying Franken's request to dismiss the election contest, as the lawsuit is called.

The panel also rejected Franken's attempt to limit any court review to verifying math and other technicalities of the recount and canvass, clearing the way for the judges to consider Coleman claims that some votes in Democratic areas were counted twice, that some absentee ballots from GOP areas were wrongly rejected and that there were other irregularities.

Harry Reid may have to wait awhile before he tries to bulldoze Franken into the the Minnesota Senate seat.

Franken had argued that state law and the U.S. Constitution sharply restricted any lawsuit over the results of a U.S. Senate election. But the panel disagreed, saying a court's review of an election "is not limited to the purely ministerial task of ensuring that the tallies from the canvassing board are fee from mathematical error."

Yep! That's the fine sort of legal mind we want writing our laws, keeping the chicanery from public scrutiny or judicial review!

Ex-ACORN Worker Indicted for Vote Fraud

Voter fraud? What voter fraud? Oooh, look! There's Barack without his shirt! Let's go see! - the MSM

For those of us still paying attention:

ST. LOUIS — A voter registration worker with the group ACORN has been indicted on two felony counts of voter registration fraud.

Deidra Humphrey, 44, of East St. Louis, is expected to appear in U.S. District Court in St. Louis this week after a grand jury indicted her on the charges Dec. 31, according to the U.S. attorney's office.

Humphrey is accused of submitting forged and false voter registration cards for the Nov. 8 general election — including forging cards for nursing home residents — U.S. Attorney Catherine Hanaway said Monday.

Humphrey worked for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) and the Missouri Progressive Vote Coalition (ProVote), not-for-profit organizations active during campaign seasons in registering low-income and minority voters.

Two felony counts! Voter fraud is one of the under reported stories of this last campaign season. Everyone who believes in "One man - one vote" should also believe in "One man - only one vote!" Conservatives should do what they can over the next two to four years to see that commonsense safeguards are put in place to ensure just that!

Obama without a shirt? Some of us believe that the Emperor has no clothes! But good luck on getting the MSM to look into that! Heh.

Odd that all the missing and undercounted ballots favor Franken two and a half times as much as Obama and 100% more than Coleman. (More than 100% if you count the votes taken away from Coleman) This stinks like three day old fish!

Most of us remember with disdain, the irregularities surrounding Ohio’s Secretary of State’s reluctance to verify thousands of possibly fraudulent voter registrations. I remember thinking at the time, that conservatives and other responsible voters needed to pay more attention to the supposedly "non-partisan" offices in state government.

Rob Port at Say Anything wrote about Jennifer Brunner, Ohio's SoS, about two weeks ago: “Ohio Election Official: Law Doesn’t Require Me To Actually Check For Voter Registration Fraud”

He ended his piece :

Oh, and by the way, Brunner has extensive connections to both ACORN and the Obama campaign.

Turns out ACORN and the Obama campaign are not the only ones with ties to the Ohio Secretary of State...and she's not alone!

In Minnesota, where news of irregularities in the vote count in the Coleman/Franken Senate race are appearing daily, comes this gem from the WSJ:

This entire process is being overseen by Democratic Secretary of State Mark Ritchie, who isn't exactly a nonpartisan observer. One of Mr. Ritchie's financial supporters during his 2006 run for office was a 527 group called the Secretary of State Project, which was co-founded by James Rucker, who came from MoveOn.org. The group says it is devoted to putting Democrats in jobs where they can "protect elections."

Protect the elections from honest vote counts? So, a Move-On-dot-organ grinder co-founds the Secretary of State Project specifically to put the foxes in charge of the henhouses? The SoS Project brags of two of its "successes". You guessed it! Jennifer Brunner and Mark Ritchie.

Reform-minded Secretaries of State - like SoS Project success stories Mark Ritchie in Minnesota and Jennifer Brunner in Ohio - are running on platforms that specifically reject this kind of double dealing. But unfortunately SoS Project values are in the minority among today's Secretaries of State.

Also from the Journal piece:

Mr. Ritchie is also an ally of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or Acorn, of fraudulent voter-registration fame. That relationship might explain why prior to the election Mr. Ritchie waved off evidence of thousands of irregularities on Minnesota voter rolls, claiming that accusations of fraud were nothing more than "desperateness" from Republicans.

The SoS Project piously intones:

"you can't be both a player and a referee"

Now if they would only practice what they preach! Until then, I think we need to keep a sharper eye on Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? (Who watches the watchmen?)

Obama Staffer Registered in Three States, Voted in Two

Change you can believe in!

Meet Farah Minwalla, an Obama field organizer in North Carolina. She registered to vote in Mecklenburg County, NC on October 4. According to county auditor reports, the address Minwalla used belongs to a Wanda Nabors. But oddly – Minwalla is also registered to vote in New York AND Nevada. All three registrations are listed as active. So, is she a resident of North Carolina, Nevada or New York? Technically, it appears she could vote in all three.

I checked the voter file and found that Minwalla registered on the day of the Nevada Caucus with a mailing address in New York. The Nevada caucus allowed registration and participation on the same day. Yet, two weeks later, someone with the same name, New York City address, and birthday voted in the New York Presidential primary. She registered at the New York City address in 2007.

This person should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, and then the laws and penalties should be stiffened so that no one attempts to steal an election again.
