Happy (Belated) Blogiversary!

Well, this is embarrassing! Sitting here looking up at the calendar, it occurred to me I ought to have a blogiversary coming up sometime soon. Or did I just forget it? Must have been all this folderol about COVID-19, that I overlooked Blogiversary-12!

As the swallows return to Capistrano, and Capistranians return to swallow, so came the twelth blogiversary of Proof Positive, unnoticed by all, even me! By the numbers: Blogiversary time last year, over 14,450 posts, 2 Million hits* and over 6 Million+ page views from 222 countries. Nine days after I started, I added the widget from the dearly departed Sitemeter, (RIP) which started off at about three hits a day (and one of them was me!).  Somewhere between a million and a million two, I had to dump the cootie infested Sitemeter and took up with Statcounter.

Now, over 15,600 posts, Millions of hits* and about 6.8 Million page views from 222** countries.


Artist and cartoonist extraordinaire John Cox is still present with his Classic KiRKWOOD 'toons. John has teamed up with Matt Margolis to do editorial cartooning. Their work can be found at Margolis & Cox.


For those of you who visit on a regular basis,  thank you. The Future of the Blog
Consulting my Magic Eight Ball: "Future uncertain. Try again later." You may have already noticed some changes around here. Some regular features ain't so regular any more. After 400+ editions of Sex in Advertising, I think I made my point. Living Medal of Honor recipients will be updated, but not as a weekly feature. Having rethought the whole "Rule Five" aspect of the blog, the Friday Night Babe has gone the way of the passenger pigeon. The Vintage Babes are still hanging in there for an encore! As I have stated in the past, the use of Robert Stacy McCain's Rule Five, was to get eyeballs onto the blog, in hopes that once they passed through the door of the establishment, they might stay and check out some of the other things on display.

But I'm not doing much long form writing these days, so...there's less "on display". Plus, when I started this blog twelve years ago, Christie Brinkley would have never been considered a "Vintage Babe". Sic transit gloria mundi!

So, buckle up! We may be in for a bumpy ride! Who knows what tomorrow may bring? Thanks for all the fish!

Today, 7000+ posts, over half a million hits from 208 countries. My "ebuzz" ranking (formerly Wikio) among American political blogs is 167. (Got as high as 151 in January.)

I'd like to think that some of that growth is because of the content, provided by members of "Team Proof", some because of the "kindness of strangers" linking from some great blogs and some mighty fine looking women, occasionally featured on these pages. (Stacy McCain's Rule Five)

A little "inside baseball": This time last year, there were about 4200 posts , and 154,000 hits from 169 countries around the globe. Nine days after I started, I added the widget from Sitemeter, which started off at about three hits a day (and one of them was me!).

Today, nearly 6000 posts, 382,000 hits from 198 countries, (which, I think is every country on the planet*), averaging around six hundred hits a day. I'd like to think that some of that growth is because of the content, provided by members of "Team Proof", some because of the "kindness of strangers" linking from some great blogs and some mighty fine looking women, occasionally featured on these pages. (Stacy McCain's Rule Five) And in the last year, the blog expanded into the social media of Facebook and Twitter, though not to their fullest extent.

Happy Blogiversary, Proof Positive!

It's that time of year again! The second blogiversary of my solo blog, Proof Positive. This time last year, there were about thirteen hundred posts, and twelve thousand hits from seventy-two countries around the globe. Nine days after I started, I added the widget from Sitemeter, which started off at about three hits a day,and one of them was me!

Today, over twenty six hundred posts, with thirty seven thousand plus hits from one hundred and fourteen countries, averaging around a hundred or so hits a day. (And one of them is still me!) Heh. Plus, we've got a fresh coat of paint on the blog logo, with a couple of fields where I can change the text around to liven things up when ever I feel like it, and even my own clothing line!
(I wonder if Yves Saint Laurent started this way???)

A little "inside baseball": Technorati ranks this blog overall at 5750 (out of over one point one million)that's in the top five tenths of one percent of all blogs everywhere. (This means I beat out your Aunt Sally's blog on crocheting for cats by a sizable margin!)
Wikio is at 3464. Beltway surveys about 800 blogs on just US politics, and my ranking there is in the high 340's. Not too shabby for a blog that was pulling in single digit hits just two years ago!

I want to thank everyone who comes by to visit. When you know that company's coming, you like to put a little extra shine on things. To paraphrase the immortal words of Sally Fields, I want you to like me, really like me! But, I'll settle for not disappointing you. (Much.)

To those of you who care enough and are brave enough to comment, I appreciate the feedback and the encouragement. I don't say that to mock those readers who do not comment. It is somewhat akin to the ubiquitous fear of public speaking, and some simply do not have the desire to engage perfect strangers in conversations. (Well, nobody's perfect! ) Heh.

Many of you are like minded individuals who want to see done what is best for our great country. From your keyboards to God's email! Some of you come by solely to see a living Medal of Honor recipient honored each week, and some of you, I'm sure, are just here for the babes! In that case, at least you have good taste!

I'm also open to suggestion on what you want to see here. My primary consideration is that Proof Positive be the kind of blog I enjoy reading myself! (So, if you think that any of the posts are less than profound, as least you'll know I'm easily amused!) I've been offered and accepted nominees for Friday Night Babe (a grueling exercise of selection I put myself through every week just for you!) and Saturday Night Music. But, even if I don't take your suggestions (some of them are anatomically impossible!) I still appreciate them!

2010 should be a good year for us politically, so stick around and see what happens next. It's still the best of times and the worst of times! Let's scare the "Dickens" out of the Democrats, shall we? -Proof
