Glenn Beck's Bullet Proof Vest Story

I'm not a big fan of Glenn Beck (so shoot me!) I have one of his books, but I think watching this clip was the longest I've ever heard him speak. But, since we are a big fan of bullet proof vests* at Proof Positive (free plug with every mention!) I thought I'd run with it.

* Bullet proof bra
* Stab proof vests

What to Get the Woman Who Has Everything

...a bullet proof brassiere! From The Telegraph:

Carmen Kibat, a policewoman in Hamburg who tested the new underwear, said: "These can save someone's life so it's not a laughing matter." She organised "Action Brassiere" across Germany, getting hundreds of policewomen to try the bras out in the line of duty.

...Three thousand front-line women police officers will now be required to wear the bras on duty. Their bosses have decided to allow them to have three each.

Front-line? Here's a marketing slogan for them (Übersetzungen extra!):

Changing the front line of police women, one officer at a time!

Where Gun Control Pays Dividends -This Guy!

Imagine you get dressed every morning to go to school. You slip your stab-proof vest under your school uniform before you slip out the door. Who are you? Chelsea Clinton? Jenna Bush? No, you're a ten year old in Great Britain whose parents would like to see to it that you make eleven!

(Bloomberg) -- Ashgar Jilow used to sell stab-proof vests to nightclub bouncers and security guards at his London military surplus store. Now his clients are kids as young as 10 who fear they're going to be knifed at school or on the street.

``Some of them are so tiny the vests don't even fit under their school uniforms,'' said Jilow, 55, who sells about three of the 120-pound ($230) vests a week. ``Parents don't know what to do to keep their kids safe.''

Every week in London 52 teenagers are victims of knife crime, according to the Metropolitan Police. A child is stabbed to death in Britain every two weeks and knife killings outnumber gun homicides three to one, said Norman Brennan, a police officer and director of the Victims of Crime Trust.

So, how's that gun ban working out for y'all, Brits? Streets any safer? Buy stab-proof vest for ten yr. olds because you live in fear that your schoolchildren will be stabbed before they make it home every day?

Maybe if you rewarded people like Tony Martin for defending his home against thugs instead of prosecuting him, there'd be fewer thugs on the streets with knives to threaten your schoolchildren?
